RB out of Dalton. Offers include Texas A&M, Michigan and Nebraska. Looked at some film and he reminds me of Rashaun Grant. Seems to have that extra gear.

A very nice offer list. We are loosening the stranglehold that other programs have had on the Top 100 in Georgia. Baby steps, but it is a start.

As an old Catamount, it's really great to see one finally, especially a RB, break the Tennessee/UGag/Awbie chains & look to head down I-75.

He's had some really good coaches (even if they did play at Tennessee/UGag/Awbie/NCState) there & let's hope he signs come December. IIRC, he will be the first back out of DHS to come to Tech since Joe Bill Faith in 1966 & the first DHS player since Eric Bearden about 35 years ago. Maybe Greg Ellis in 1988 or Josh McElroy in 1995 are exceptions, but IIRC they were walkons.

For those keeping score at home, there have been several from the county directional & neighboring county schools, but the first in a long, long time from Dalton HS.

Not that it matters, but he will be the first African-American football player sent to GT from Dalton HS. Others have gone to Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, Western Carolina, Yale, Northwestern, Chattanooga, Jacksonville State, Austin Peay, et al, but he will be the first to GT.

Hoping that Coach Choice is a good judge of running back talent. A lot of big time programs wanted this kid.

Nice get. Using a take-off on an old golf phrase... "you run for show and you block and tackle for dough." We will all know that GT has turned the corner when the OL & DL recruits are as highly coveted as the skill position players GT is getting now.

What will it take? Is it impossible?

There are a lot of variables. If we are bowl eligible in 2019, then 2020 will be a very good recruiting year. Recruiting begets winning, so we will be running downhill after that. But in 1990 and 1991 we were loaded, and we saw just how fragile success can be. If we have unprecedented success quickly--such as double digit wins in 2020 and beyond, Coastal Division champs, maybe even ACC champs, New Year's Six bowl or maybe a playoff berth, our staff will be coveted around the nation. Brent Key, Thacker, and others will be getting offers. That is the challenge on top of the challenge to compete and win. Keeping the staff together, with their recruiting talent and network relationships will be a significant part of our long term success.

Nice pick up. Welcome Mr. Gibbs.

“You win with people first. When you surround yourself with unbelievable men of character and relentless recruiters who give great effort and care about the student-athlete and want them to be successful in every single phase of their lives, and tie that together with a great place, you have a chance to build something special.”

Yes he looks to have some speed and a build that won't get knocked over by a one-arm tackle.
    Get off my lawn.
