He has proven many people wrong before.

Well there was The wishbone then the veer then the spread then the t formation the. The double wing etc etc etc and they do well for a time and then....they go in woodwork....the triple option will be good for awhile and then talent kicks in.....bet no pro q.b will be running it....just glad we have new offense and coaching staff

These replies are so dumb lol. I’m shocked at how dumb or how many people are willing to continue their stupid PJ beliefs just because they don’t like him as a person. Is it jealousy? That someone y’all don’t like personally is 100x more successful than any of you could ever dream of being?

For what, you ask? An NFL team that just made the playoffs isn’t desperate. The only thing this proves is how well respected PJ is in the industry. He’s forgotten more about football than everyone on this board knows combined. They have their franchise QB in Lamar Jackson and PJ probably knows a little bit about the run game. John Harbaugh bringing him in proves that he PJ is a damn good football coach.

No one said PJ was tired of coaching or GT. This isn’t hard to figure out. PJ coached at Navy and started at GT during a different time. CFB and recruiting, specifically, are completely different now than they were when he started and it’s even a lot different than it was 5 or 6 years ago. Paul Johnson is an old school football coach. He’s a damn good football coach. If the talent was equal, I’d take him over 90% of CFB coaches. His downfall the last couple of years was recruiting. As an old school coach, he’s not gonna kiss anyone’s ass and he’s gonna be a straight shooter. That’s been well documented. He’s not gonna lie or mislead anyone, like many coaches out there do. So that, along with the fact that there’s now a culture where every kid has to make a “commitment video” and be a diva about everything, PJ realized that the modern game has passed him. I’m sure if it was JUST coaching football, he’d still be coaching and I feel like we’ll see him resurface somewhere else, maybe not a power 5 program. Not to mention, Clemson and UGA have gotten into the elite, “Alabama” status in CFB and he knows GT won’t be able to compete with that, no matter who the coach is.

It’s crazy how smart guys can turn into complete idiots just because they don’t like someone.

Well listen to you Cobby..now you are shocked at folks beliefs........well when did you become the expert on Tech football..Have you ever coached the game ? not to make this a PJ rant but if he is soo good..........why is he not at another school...........If he is a old football coach as you suggest and I agree he should know by now how to recruit but ........he evidently does not.You can post all you want to but the day you challenge a belief of another person on this blog and give the impression you know it all..........it is time for you to sit down ............you know better Cobby you have been down this road before being such a authority that you left us for awhile......take it easy and be cool everybody has a right to a opinioin.......that is all...........

Yep you can do somethings with this but would not want to run the option vs a talented pro defense .........you can lose your franchise very quickly

Once again, you’re another person that picks and chooses what they want to take from my posts. Never said PJ was “soooo” good. He’s a good coach and I’ll take the opinion of his peers and people that are actually in the industry over guys on a message board that never played sports competitively past junior high. And I just explained why he isn’t at another school. He likes coaching. He doesn’t like all the extra stuff. Kissing 17 year olds asses, the “me” show it’s become when it comes to recruits etc.

Can’t wait to see your reply twisting my words.
