    SBNation returning production

Every year they provide a very detailed evaluation of the returning production players for all 130 Division 1 teams.
Here is the 2019 rankings for our opponents & GT:
    Virgina Tech #11
    North Carolina #35
    USF #38
    Clemson #53
    Pitt #54
    UVA #55
    Temple #67
    uga #69
    Miami #86
    Duke #106
    NC State #109
    GT #119

Looks bad for us, especially since we didnít even have anyone drafted.
Guessing we are a 5 win team in 2019.

I don't know the process for evaluating this, but my guess is that one or two positions might move your team several places in the rankings. We have some talent this fall that are not "returning", they are arriving. That might make us comparable to Georgia or Temple. But this is something we can't control this year. We just have to see how it plays out.

Collins is inheriting a 7 win team. The only loss that will hurt is Parker Braun. How much will it hurt? I’m not sure but losing one of the best OL in the country won’t help. With the additions of Southers, Griffin and Brown and the likely immediate eligibility of Ezzard, Clayton and Sims, we’re going to be talented.PJ didn’t leave the cupboard bare and with the work Collins has done so far to bring in a few guys for this year, we have enough talent to compete and win any game we play in this year outside of Clemson and UGA.

I don't know that any of this applies to us this year. With a completely new scheme, coming from a scheme that is rarely seen, it'd be difficult to know who will produce for us.

Dumb list. VT #11? VT was warmed-over dog**** all year. That they're bringing back a bunch of losers makes them #11?

And I'll take Clemson's returning players over any in that list yet they're #53?

Exactly. Just because a program has returning experience doesn't equate to greatness. Clempsen and Georgia compared to USF and VPI just seems cuckoo. In the past I have read that the strongest barometer of upcoming success is the number of Offensive Line starts returning. We probably aren't good in that department either. But this is my prediction: we will see a significant improvement in our returning players due to improved coaching, motivation, and conditioning. You will see the difference in playing well designed, attacking defense as compared to whatever it was we were doing the last few years. I know there will be disagreement on this, but I think you will see Georgia Tech playing harder and faster than we have in years. We will be better coached AT EVERY POSITION than we have been in years. There will be no "TaQuon Situations" in which a player is playing in a position that he is ill suited, and not qualified to play at a P5 level. The starting 22 in November may be radically different that the starting 22 against Clempsen as the roster evolves and the staff learns more about the players. By the end of the season, I expect us to be a pretty decent football team, with a handful of good wins this year.

    SJ,
Got to disagree on only loss than hurts. We lost Braun ,BY FAR the best OL.We've lost Adams now ,our best DL.This is on a team that is already weak on the lines. It is actually scary how weak we might be if we have any injuries.
btw--based on Spring game I wouldn't count on Southers doing much on OL.
I'm waiting as last yr to see who actually is --available to play-- come clemp game before I predict the record- but almost assuredly we will be better at end that beginning as Yuk said..

Ah yes, my bad on Adams. He was a beast last year and was graded as one of the top interior linemen in the ACC last year by PFF. Huge loss. Would’ve loved to had seen him play for Collins.
