    Spring Game

I attended and watched every play.
    1) 40% of the crowd left at half time— that sucks.
    2) The offensive line sucks.
    3) The throwing sucked—it was just good catches by wide receivers on balls that were tossed up that resulted in success—our opponents will pick off passes left and right against us.
Sorry, but someone has to be honest and objective about the performance.
People need to get their heads out of their asses about our talent relative to our opponents—as reflective in the performance of our final two games last season.
I am glad that Crumpus the Coach is gone and am hopeful that Coach Collins will turn things around but it is going to take quite a few years to do so.
I will be at every home game chearing them on, but we are a 5 to 6 win team this season.

Thanks for the report. I wouldn't be too discouraged about the crowd leaving at halftime. At least 60% of UGA and Bama fans leave at halftime. I would agree about the offense. These were option players and right now you are trying to fit square pegs into round holes. Earlier reports had been positive about Tobias Oliver but he didn't play any at QB. Judging from the stat sheet, Jamious Griffin has a chance to play and may be even start as a freshman. The running numbers were pedestrian at best.

Worst analysis I’ve seen. No substance at all. “This sucks, that sucks.” You can’t say anything else because you don’t know football. Not sure about who you’re talking about that needs to get their head out of their asses. Most people know we’re not going to set the world on fire. Probably the rare, few that think we’re gonna win 10 games but you want to lump everyone into the same category.

I watched every play as well and you’re just wrong. Flat out wrong.

Our QB’s threw the ball well. Graham had the best throw of the night and showed some real ability. Think he would’ve played better with the 1’s. Johnson might be pretty dang good. We didn’t design any runs for him because I’m sure they want to make sure he got out of spring healthy. Graham is dynamic with the ball in his hands. CDP has put his stamp of approval on these QB’s. We’ll have 4 talented QB’s in the fall.

Offensive line did not suck. You just have no idea what you’re talking about. Our starting center was out but our first team OL was solid. Pretty good in pass protection and a lot of those sacks weren’t real sacks due to it being the spring game and coaches not wanting QB’s to go down. Graham would’ve gotten out of a lot of those situations and made a play. I like our first team OL but run blocking could’ve been better. If Brent Key is really the best OL coach in the country, this group is not a concern whatsoever. I’m not worried about the OL.

WR’s looked damn good and reports from practice has been that they are really good. Our top 4 of Camp, Carter, Brown and Sanders we’re on display last night. Dolphus made a couple of catches as well. Sanders looked great, Carter is going to be good and I think the true frosh Brown is gonna be a guy we talk about for years to come. This was my biggest concern coming in. Not anymore. Looks like we have a talented group.

RB’s were ok. Mason was just ok. He’ll get tough yards. I liked Malloy. Had a little explosion to him. Donate Smith as well. Two RS freshman. We weren’t that great running the ball but our two best RB’s in 2019 were likely not even on the field (Benson, Griffin). Another really talented group.

TE Tyler Davis didn’t play last night and I don’t think we understand yet how crucial he’s going to be to our success.

So last night, with very vanilla playcalling and without our starting RB, center and tight end, you want to say we suck. You really don’t know football. Here’s the deal....

Collins is inheriting a 7 win team. That’s fact. Most people’s concerns are....

    1. Defense. It’s been bad for years now. We now have one of the best defensive coaches in America. Upgrade.

    2. Quarterback. Our worries should be gone now.

    3. Offensive line. Solid last night especially in pass protection. Need to get better with run blocking and get healthy. If we get the injury bug during the season, we might be in trouble but we have the best OL coach in America.

    4. Wide receivers. Absolutely no concern whatsoever. We have some studs.

Bottom line is, this is a 7 win team with an upgrade in the coach department, we think. 6 wins should absolutely be the floor. There are only two teams on our entire schedule that we shouldn’t have a chance against next year. Miami is the only other one that has a better roster and we beat them last year. Every other team on our schedule either has the same or lesser talent than us. That’s fact.

This narrative is annoying and just wrong. These guys are FOOTBALL PLAYERS. Not option players. We have talent. We were left in good shape. Not 10 win or beat UGA/Clemson good shape but damn good shape. Anything less than 6 wins would be disappointing.

Just rewatched the first quarter. Johnson threw the ball well, although not a ton downfield. He threw a good ball to Jalen Camp on the first drive on the defensive pass interference. Really nice throw at the goal line to Brown. Graham threw two strikes on the first drive. Seriously. QB’s sucked? OL sucked? OL got decent push and protected the QB’s really well. I’m just baffled by the OP’s analysis lol. So incredibly dumb. It’s not being “honest” like the OP said. It’s just wanting to be a miserable person or just being dumb. Can’t decide which one.

I watched parts of it during my vacation trip and thought that we looked better than expected throwing the football. Our WRs appear to be pretty stout and LJ threw it pretty decently. I read later where Collins said he kept the Defense intentionally vanilla as "fans want to see us score points" so not sure you can really pass much judgment on anything, given that it's an organized scrimmage.

Attendance of almost 22K is pretty indicative that GT fans appear ready to return to the program. I think we'll win 7 and anything more than that is gravy.

We are lucky to have so many takes on the game by our experts...all should recognize that a opinion from one is not the final answer...i was not therdd but to take on new offense etc with new players I would think it is a good nite

We had zero tight ends, linemen who were taught to go low and A-Backs who's primary job was blocking and running not receiving. We had a coach who was assigned to QB's and B-Backs not solely to QB's. You don't have any idea what you are talking about. We got smoked by Minnesota in the last game and nobody thinks they are a juggernaut. I think you may be Mike Sewak.

Zero tight ends, fine...but Tyler Davis is going to be good and we’ll have a true freshman. Not worried about TE. Linemen who played their whole life playing one way, were taugh a different scheme for a couple of years and are now going back to what they’ve played their whole lives....FOOTBALL. And the AB’s aren’t going to be playing. Jarrett was the only A-back that got any carried and it was with the 2nd team. There will be 5 RB’s ahead of any returning AB. Your point is invalid.

I do know what I’m talking about. These guys are football players, not option players.

And if I was Mike Sewak, why would I say we now have the best OL coach in the nation? Oh right, any time I say anything on here that people don’t like (the truth) I’m called names and called a PJ lover, Mike Sewak etc. Funny.
