I read later where Collins said he kept the Defense intentionally vanilla as "fans want to see us score points" so not sure you can really pass much judgment on anything, given that it's an organized scrimmage.

Attendance of almost 22K is pretty indicative that GT fans appear ready to return to the program. I think we'll win 7 and anything more than that is gravy.
Weird. Agree with everything you just said. Why can’t you be reasonable and honest with every post? And not emotional and hyperbolic all the time?

I saw your post before I logged in (once logged in, you show up as Blocked Content) so thought I'd give you a reply.

Why can't you respect a differing opinion without resorting to playground insults like "prick" and "asshole", etc? Not sure if you've noticed but your Rush Limbaugh style of debate, where everyone who disagrees just gets insulted, hasn't made you a ton of friends. Any friends, actually.

Back to topic - yeah, the fact that we agree is probably indicative that we're on the right side of this lol.

OK, well back to being Blocked. It's a bit more peaceful.

We got smoked by Minnesota in the last game and nobody thinks they are a juggernaut. I think you may be Mike Sewak.
I don't disagree with that but I do think Coack Key can fix that stupid Sewak blocking scheme pretty quickly, as it's not what these OL did before they got to GT. You're right on the TE but we at least have some help coming there. Like you, I wish we had less A/B backs and more DLmen. Hopefully these kids can be productive under CGC - not sure we need that many RBs on the team.

One thing though, ol' PJ appears to have left behind some very competent QBs. Frankly, he probably should've tried to roll out Graham last year rather than Marshall. Graham appears to be a much better passer than what we've seen the last 2 years. Obviously, it's LJ's job to lose though - he looks legit.

Really weird, agree with all of this too. If Coach Key is the best OL coach in the nation (as some have said, not sure how you judge that but I think he’s very good) then it shouldn’t be hard to retrain these guys to do what they were doing a couple of years ago. The A/B backs thing isn’t about having more linemen. Those A-backs would be tight ends if we had a traditional offense. We have a normal amount of DL, there just aren’t many difference makers there. I only see one AB POSSIBLY being ATL (above the line) and that’s Jarrett. I don’t see how Cottrell or Gant will get any PT. Even then, after Griffin comes in and Benson is back along with Amerson and other backs coming in, Jarrett probably won’t have a shot to play much either. So maybe some of the AB’s will transfer out.

QB’s do look good. I will say PJ continuing to go with Marshall the last two years was just mind boggling and a black mark on his tenure. Just being stubborn. But I guess it would’ve been tough to bench him after the Tennessee game and then we were REALLY close to the win over a ranked VT team. I’ll give him a pass for 2017 but no excuse for Marshall starting in 2018.

    Ok, y'all suckered me in.....

I saw more skinny posts, WR screens, & back shoulder throws in a spring game than I've seen since Fridge left for the Twerps. BTW, you're not going to see much more than basic vanilla O & D in a spring game. A lot of the scrambles got blown dead as soon as the pass pro or coverage dictated. And there were a lot of snaps for the walk-on QBs. I'm sure a lot of the BTL players were in during the 2nd half, too.

Looked like no one got seriously hurt. And even though some names got held out due to practice injuries, it's just April, not August or September.

And from the players perspective, they survived another spring practice without getting hurt in a glorified scrimmage.

I saw more new faces (big, really big people) in the Letterwinners Lounge/Section that I haven't seen in ages. And that's not even counting James Munlyn, the old MBB player. A lot of regulars who have come regardless of who was HFC weren't there Friday due to previous commitments.

IMNSHO, we're a 7 win team that could go 5-7 or 9-3, dependent entirely on Dodd's Luck.

I'd be happy with 7 wins for sure.

    I was there also.
I've got to admit we threw and caught much better than I would have thought. btw- I said Brown coming in was going to be a threat and he is.Sanders looked good too.The new crew coming in MAY be even.better.

THe DL and Ol are more problematic. We sure didn't run much well .Since I know the DL is suspect then that makes the OL suspect.I didn't really watch them closely but a few times.Once # 41, 220 lb Henderson ,pushed the new transfer OT, ,Southers at 315 lb , straight back 5 yds into the QB .Scary.

We have got to get a power running game for short ydage.

It was a glitzy show with restricted play for sure (At times it looked like the DEF was playing 2 handtouch) but it got the enthusiasm up which was key.

I got a list of over 13 possible transfers by next yr.It will interesting.

I'm a bit surprised the "strength of the eam", DBs , didn't do better.

Yes! Brown looks awesome. His coaches and teammates are raving about him. Saying he’s electric with one teammate saying he’s the fastest player they’ve ever seen. He’s going to be crucial for us and I think as long as he doesn’t get hurt, he’s gonna be one we talk about years after he’s gone.
