    Rank the Head Coach Candidates

How would you rank the head coaching candidates in relation to who you think will get the job. Not who you want to get the job, who will actually get the job.

I don't have a ranking beyond #1 but I have a hunch it will be Geoff Collins. I think he has the most of all the skill, experience and attributes the job requires.

I have not heard George Godsey's name mentioned.

I'm feeling the love for Geoff Collins also. There's a good chance in my unqualified opinion that he'll be the next Tech coach.

    Go JACKETS! THWG!

My main concerns about Collins was that he seems to have trouble beating Villanova and Temple was already coming off 2 10 win seasons when he took over. He does have a strong track record as a DC at Mississippi State and Florida. Also, Roddy Jones said he was a key player in the 2007 recruiting class. The response on him on the internet has been overwhelmingly positive just the opposite of Whisenhunt. Tech fans are clearly starved for a good recruiter. Tired of competing with East Carolina, Georgia Southern, and Arkansas State for recruits.

Stilll remember how he left Mississippi State in the lurch prior to the Orange Bowl game. I have no idea of the circumstances, but it was just odd leaving to go to the DC position at Florida after they had lost to Ole Miss, but before the bowl game. True he was a big reason Miss State was ranked #1 for five weeks that year. Just doesn't pass the smell test for me.

Collins seems to be the front runner at the present.

If I remember right, seems like the Miss State departure was prompted by some harsh criticism from Mullen.
