    Ah, a win

It really helps to have a DEF than can get TOs when your own OFF keeps giving them the ball. FOR A CHANGE. We ain't good on DEf but better than TED and his "statues"

PJ made a great call on long TD pass but BUNGLED end of half badly.. btw-- Shouldn't have the bungle--Cottrell didn't score he -is not exactly elusive. On that reverse he had a blocker with one man to beat for td and can't get anywhere close to getting by him. (he will be our super Sr aback next yr, hmm).

3 lost fumbles won't get it done for next 3 games ,or even 2 probably

Getting close to that coveted 6-6 record

Glad we won, but UNC is 1-7. That's what we've become, competitive with the lower stratum. One of the worst game day coaching performances ever, by any coach. Fourth and goal, no time left in the half, ahead by two scores, on the f'cking road, at their homecoming. Riverboat gambler wants to show how big his nads are---goes for it and gets shut out. Next thing you know, it's 28-28 and we are on the ropes. Could have and should have kicked the FG, gone in 24-10, get the second half kick-off and cruise. He's just not a good coach. The only thing responsible for that win is that UNC is pitiful. BTW Willie Taggert at FSU just pulled the same $hit, going for fourth and one at his own 31. Failed. CPJ = CWT.

was listening to it on the radio as kids and I enjoyed a beautiful fall drive thru Western NC/eastern TN mtns. Why didn't we kick a FG at end of 1st half?

    Because CPJ is an idiot.

One encouraging thing was after it got to 28-28 were the interceptions. With Roof, once the defense started leaking, it became a flood. The fumbles are a concern and that doesn't include the botched snap on 4th down. UNC has been really good about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory this year. Tech tried to do that in this game as well. Fortunately for Tech, UNC is just better at it.

Why not go up 14 pts there? Always take the easy pts on the road. Come out, get the kickoff, score a TD, ball game.

I've said it before and again here: He is literally one of the worst game-day decision-making HCs in all of college football. He gets so many basic strategy decisions wrong, time and time and time again.

    Yuk,
Your thoughts were EXACTLY mine at the time.
I didn't like that whole sequence on plays at end of half.Cottrell gets WAY free on a reverse and has a open field with our WR blocking ONE DB.The best he can do is get stopped in his TRACKs as he gets to defender..(nice fellow but has NO elusiveness and next yr he is our star Aback)). We get to 3 rd down and 5 and for some reason PJ breaks the regular formation (that is working) like we are going to pass--EVERYBODY knows we won't and we run for about 3 yrds .so 4th down timeout-- we forgo FG and try what everybody knew was coming.Off tackle QB power. No go.TO doesn't even get BEHIND bback blocker.
I could see that coming back to haunt us.Pure luck it didn't.
    6-6, maybe
