Looking at GT's football schedule, I see 3 wins total. A final 3-9 record. Do you think I am being too optimistic?

Before the season started I said 4-8 and I'm going to stay with that. But honestly, after seeing three games, we are worse than I thought we would be. One thing that CPJ has going for him is that over the years he has shown an ability to improve as the season goes along. Last year, losing four games at the end of the year was a bit unusual. As in several years past, there appears to be no on-field leadership. We have no athletes that can take the team on their backs and pull them through adverse situations--such as a bonehead fake punt decision. It will be interesting to watch how we react to two or three embarrassing beat-downs. But whether we end up 3-9, or 5-7 makes little difference. We have become a very bad, non-competitive program. We are a cupcake now for several teams on our schedule, when we were once a tough out.
Maybe the Pittsburgh game will open some eyes. It must be difficult for a coach to "give up" on a season, but that is what needs to happen. Quit pretending that the players on the field Saturday are capable of being better. This team is going nowhere. Sit TaQuon, and several others and get some younger guys who may be valuable next year into the games.

Win you lose to Pitt and USF you are in deep kemchi and we dont have the hosses to get out of the mess looks like a 5-7 yr if.............and only if we play well lbut that is poor solace for this coaching.

Yes, GT has typically gotten better as the season progressed under PJ. That is the sign of a good coach and coaching staff. As you pointed out, it went the opposite direct last season. If it stays the same or gets worse again this year, that may signal the end.

USF had one of the weakest D1 schedules last year and then lost the majority of their starters after the season.
They are not a good team, yet they beat us by 11.
    Guessing we will be 3-8.

I would say 4-8. Perhaps the biggest thing PJ has going for him is that a number of the teams on the schedule are going in the tank. Louisville had to rally to beat Western Kentucky. UNC was smoked by East Carolina which had lost to North Carolina A&T. UVA has not been impressive. You still have Bowling Green has well. The jury is still out on VT (that win against FSU looks less impressive each week) and Miami.

I said 6-6 but revise that down to 3, maybe 4 wins.

UVA, BG are 2 wins. Maybe 1 more out of Louisville, UNC, Puke. Maybe.

in year 10, with a starting QB and more AB/OL depth than ever.
