    New depth chart out.

Some interesting stuff.Going into Fall camp.
    new-
R-Fr Carpenter #1 SS--he gained 20 lbs --if you believe the weights.
    Jordan-Swilling gained 25 lbs.Still only as co-starter at ILB.
The OL is a strange situation with the injuries. If Cooper is out, Lee moves to CTr.Marshall not getting back leaves a walk-on at OT.Then Morgan goes OG and he is not impressive to me.So it all could be ok or a disaster.
With all the new players in new positions some of the young guys that were competing have fallen out to 3rd string.t.Look for possible transfers by next yr-DBs-Cole,Bonds,Showell, Williams LB-Brashear,,Jackson Aback-Gantt
WR-Hawkins Sanders at 185 is 2nd unit--lightest WR I can remember-- so no depth btw-in an article a new FR WR Harris was compared to Messick who just left-Messick I think caught 1 pass in his career, "some recommendation"-yep. no depth
I sure hope Pontez-Mason (205) beats out Jarrett at 2nd unit,Aback--175 lb backs struggle generally
Glanton, who started some at DT is NOT on the 2 deep-.wow
Tufele,OL, gained 25 lbs to 315--I wonder how long he will be around

    Overall on paper--
if the OL could get together, the OFF would be ok, not great unless we got some decent passing

the DEF really could start VERY slowly
the DL is very light, the LBs are decent but are playing new positions, the DB may start out DREADFUL-4 new starters in a NEW system -recipe for big problems -----quite a challenge for Woody

the PK didn't get mentioned--but probably is the difference in TWO games--like last yr

    Here's a link.

    Georgia Tech depth chart released

O-Line is very light. Hard to see Curry being even with Jordan-Swilling. Curry hasn't been healthy. What happened to Xavier Gantt? He was fairly highly touted coming out of Buford. I wonder if there are lingering injury issues. Stewart and Camp are not particularly reassuring as starting receivers. We will really miss Juene.

Gantt (167 lb) was too small when we signed him and is still too small for this offense.
WR is close to an Offensive passing disaster at this point..

Especially our SR year, 1971, when Carson & Tom Moore outsmarted themselves and used Brent as a decoy at FL/WR. Only times I ever saw Brent winded was those two geniuses abusing Herman Lam and Brent shuttling in plays. That lasted about three games, but by the time they got it corrected, Moore was on the fast track to an Asst's job in Clemson and Carson was halfway to the Steelers.

Would love to see CPJ do something different, like start Lucas at QB vs Clemson (the way he started Jordan @ VPI 2 years ago) and just come out flinging it.

I think WR is our biggest weakness though. Combined with a QB with a shaky arm and a very young secondary, I got us at 6 wins, tops. I think this secondary might get a few more picks but will also get burned deep a few more times too. The absolute last thing our run-heavy offense can't do is get behind by a few scores. I don't see CPJ pulling a Saban and switching to the throwing QB if we're down in the 2nd half to anyone either.

BTW, probably need to add... Dr. Herman Lam is a EE prof at U of Fla in Gainesville. One smart dude.... No idea where younger brother Ben is these days.
