So, Cook leaves Tech to take the OC in Statesboro. He lasts one year. Gets rehired using Stansbury's pool of new money for analysts. Is this cause for celebration? I assume something is rotten at Southern, since both coordinators and the strength coach got fired in December.

As analysts, Cook and Nichols should be a plus. Cook knows the Tech program as good as anyone and knows the recruiting field around here. Nichols is from Dunwoody, graduated from Marist and also knows the area.

Is this cause for celebration? Not yet but we'll see. It'll be a year or so before we know if we improve recruiting.

Side Note: Georgia Southern's head coach was fired halfway through the season. An assistant coach ran the program the rest of the season. GS released everybody at year's end.

“You win with people first. When you surround yourself with unbelievable men of character and relentless recruiters who give great effort and care about the student-athlete and want them to be successful in every single phase of their lives, and tie that together with a great place, you have a chance to build something special.”
