    Great news!!!
"We're not here to have a Norman Vincent Peale "Power of Positive Thinking" get together or a Georgia Tech Football Revival Meeting."

    Jim Hart

“You win with people first. When you surround yourself with unbelievable men of character and relentless recruiters who give great effort and care about the student-athlete and want them to be successful in every single phase of their lives, and tie that together with a great place, you have a chance to build something special.”

Great news for GT & the young man.

What is confusing is many, on other boards, say we can not recruit players that go to SEC schools due, mainly, to academics. But seems like in recent years, we have had guys transfer in from auburn, bama, olemiss, ut, and uga. Does not add up.

What is funny to me is the degrees we have to give out.See folks with business degrees and history degrees which makes me wonder were does all the math courses come from........one thing for sure we cannot compete very long with engineering courses while the guys we play get recreation degrees etc...

There have always been plenty of players that can handle the academics, as your post states. The decision NOT to attend Georgia Tech for the studious player is based on a long list of legitimate reasons.

Boy, we needed some good news. The Oline was starting to look decimated.A couple of guys did comment that he struggled some to pickup the new Off this Spring. So he might not even be the full replacement for J. Whitely though..

Well, we don't know how good DeFoor is, but he has to be better than a vacant space on the roster. Big body, some experience. It is easy to be optimistic when you can say a player's name and SEC in the same sentence. Based upon other OL players we have signed in the past three years, you could conclude he is the best one we have added. The question remains, will he get the coaching he needs to develop further?

Depends on who is coaching him. If it is West, the answer is yes. If it is Sewak, the answer is no.
