What we need is a squadron of C-130 gun ships and a squadron of A-10's working on these guys for about 2 weeks.

Too bad the A10 is being retired which is BS. Getting rid of 300 of the world's best fixed-wind close-air support for the cost savings equivalent of 30 F-35 JSFs. Which boggles my mind. Are we more likely to need A10s in wars in 3rd world countries or F35s over Russia/China? The battlefield of the future is not over Europe. Well, I take that back actually. Putin is laughing at us.

Our F/A-18's are doing a great job dropping the JDAMS but the A10's with that Gatling Gun would rip up tanks, trucks, cars, houses and shallow bunkers. And, they are armored to sustain ground fire.

If we go into Syria, we are going to have to take out the surface to air missiles because there is no way we can trust Assad. But, that shouldn't take us but a week or two.

Now having said the above, I sure hope we have an amphib force on station with an embarked Marine brigade so we can respond anywhere in Iraq to protect the force we already have on the groung.

The French and the Brits may help us but I don't look for Germany to do anything. As for the Saudi's, hell they are probably financing ISIS.

So, if we really decide to take on ISIS it will be the USA doing the heavy lifting as usual.
