Looks like Johnson's gonna live & die with the TO. Wow, he really seems to hate the forward pass!

We shall see soon.PJ says we need more completed passes so maybe we get better throwing the rock.I would guess he had to go back to basics.....but I thought we were in basic set all yr long.JT is key no doubt...if he does well the flex goes and if not .....well we don't do that good.We shall see soon.

I love how they act like we completely transformed the offense last year. We ran a "significant" amount of Diamond in ONE game only - Duke and to great effect. After that game, we barely ran it at all other than obvious 3rd and long passing downs.

"I think it's very evident," Byerly said. "We're not a shotgun team. Let's get under center. Let's run the triple and that's it."
Not much of a surprise here, pretty much what we expected. PJ's life is on the line so he's not fooling around with anything other than his 3 play playbook. Probably the best "system" for a guy like JT and our caliber of skill players this year anyhow. I think this year will be true "Navy" caliber football, hopefully we will run it almost as good as they do.

"JT hands off to Laskey for 3 yards" Wake me up in 2015!

I thought we only used the diamond sparingly last year but hell might have been in other room when we were in it but no doubt PJ going back to his roots and no doubt JT will need his speed to make this thing go.......still say we need to get the rock in the air and get out of total dive ,dive ,dive...thats for the Navy subs.........I think we do better but no idea what the guys on the other side are doing....wait and see I guess.HWGA

So, the diamond was CPJ's answer to giving the defense something else to worry about? So, instead of simply shifting to the shotgun and putting the AB's in the middle of the slots and runing a read option, we go to a full backfield with the diamond and give the defense a break.

    Wow!

Yeah no problem with going to the diamond since it puts some pressure on the defense and look when you have a big guy like Lee who could throw and had size wy not use it....the good teams are spread teams and wish we did the same .....spread them out and let it roll.

I'm afraid we're about to find out what happens when you run this II-A/HS offense against the big boys.

Wait - we already have found this out!

Really? What the hell else would he run?? Since Paul Johnson calls the plays, I'm thinking whoever is at quarterback will plan to run the triple option.

Quote PJ "People say we need to pass more, I say no, we need to complete it more"

Chicken and egg, I think. To complete more passes, don't you have to ATTEMPT more passs? I know that completion % is not a function of quantity but I've read from alot of you that its more difficult to execute passing consistently when you do it so infrequently.

    Go JACKETS! THWG!
