    Ga southern

I'm sorry, but am I alone in worrying about Ga So. Of course I know that they are a crappy team at best, but they handed it to UF, and if we don't take them seriously, I am afraid they will do the same to us. They, unlike every other team we play, knows our offense perfectly seeing as how CPJ came from there, and most schools that get enough time to prepare for our offense succeed with only two weeks of practice versus yearlong practice with it.

And how horrible would that be for us to lose. It would be a mockery for the school as being not just 2nd but only 3rd best college team in the state. It would show that CPJ is a fraud for losing to his prior team who has less talent and no longer his playcalling. Our already laughingstock of a program (not trying to be hurtful, just honest) will be embarrassed further. And where would we go from there?

New coach, new system and I believe they lost their best players.

I would have been genuinely worried if we were playing last year's team. Oddly enough, we seem to struggle defending the option at times.

The corollary to "They know our offense!" is the seemingly-ignored fact that we SHOULD know theirs.

We've got better athletes too. And damnit, Paul Johnson alone is worth 21 pts.

Georgia Tech football is a dumpster fire right now. Paul Johnson didn't start it, but he is presiding over it. Some really intelligent poster (who shall remain nameless) called for his dismissal long ago. Hindsight being 20/20, there are probably many more folks that can now see the wisdom to last year's midseason declaration "fire him immediately after the Georgia game". We might lose to Georgia Southern, but we shouldn't. It would be a remarkably bad performance if we did. But except for Wofford, we could lose to any of the other ten teams on the schedule. As far as Southern is concerned, I doubt that they have even one player on their entire squad that we would offer a scholarship to. I understand your angst, but I worry much more about Tulane than Southern, altho the two are connected. Tulane is a competent team. Let's assume we head to New Orleans, playing the first game in Tulane's new crib, and lay an egg. We return to Atlanta, 1-1, with a horrendous loss to the Green Wave. Here comes Southern--now with new confidence---us with little confidence and zero swagger--and the stadium is half full of Southern fans---tractors all over the Tech campus lots. It would be a test of our will for sure.

Didn't Monken take the option offense with him to West Point. Southern doesn't run it anymore, do they?

GA is always Southerns biggest outside conferance game no matter what or whom they play...they played Bama one year but talk to alums and they would love to beat Ga over us ..PJ being the coach will fire them up.taking things out of context....Eagles would love to be noted as beating the best in the state.
