One thing playing a football season does is it lets the team discover "who we are". Pittsburgh's coach said that was one of the most exciting things about dealing with young men and coaching a football team and playing the games. You have to play the games to know. You may have an idea of who you are, but until the season plays out, you just don't really know. So. Who are we, this band of brothers, this swarm of Yellow Jackets? We are all about to find out. The drama has already begun, our mettle will surely be tested, at least a dozen Saturdays, if not more. Down on the old farm there'll be no sound, till our bow-wows rip thru the air.

We're in for a long season boys...but fret not...each day we're closer to the end of the Paul Johnson regime.

12 out of 13. When will this stop?
Bobby Godd never, not once, ever blamed his boys for a loss. It was always on his shoulders, and his shoulders alone. That is greatness. This is not. --YukonWreck

No, we owe him at least the 10 years+ we're going to have given Johnson before finally coming to our senses.
All you "We fire coaches too quickly!!" guys are hilarious. If anything, we wait too long. This is YEAR SEVEN and the wheels are falling off. We've $hat the bed against every team worth a damn for the past 5 years. Of course, I'd argue they've been falling off since the loss to the mutts in '09 but regardless - we're clearly a program going down. But so many Johnsonians still seem to think "This is the BEST we can do - lose to the mutts every year and $hit the bed in a middle tier bowl! Go Johnson!! Look at those rushing stats we had against Elon! Woohoo!!"
I hope your personal standards are better than those you have for our football program and coach. 'Cause those standards are mediocre, bordering on pathetic with a heavy dosage of sheer boredom.
