Fair. I would think we are due to beat at least one of the "big 4" as some like to call it. But maybe we're due to lose to teams like Pitt or UNC, who we're equal with in talent but beat consistently.

Reasonable forecast, Yuke. We dwell in the house of 7-5 forever. But with those three easy games to start, I bet most folks are expecting at least 8 wins.

Oh, my gut tells me 7-5 is wildly optimistic. The conference has so much parity of mediocrity right now. I am very wary of the Tulane game in New Orleans, in their new stadium. A road game early in the season conjures up @ Kansas a few years ago. The middle four stretch of Miami, Duke, @UNC and @ Pittsburgh, could be 0-4. If you get to Homecoming 3-5, what do we have to play for? It is just as plausible to be 5-7 as 7-5. The people foreseeing 8, or some, 9 wins are to be congratulated for their spirit. I just don't see it.

I think we can go 3-1 in the mid-stretch. Especially after plenty of time (i.e. 3 cupcakes) to get the offense and defense playing as a unit. If these games were early on, I'd be worried about how well our "brand new" starting offensive personnel would perform.

We go after 7-5 after pulling one out of our backsides. I predict 2/3 into the season PJ's seat gets real warm and it is that magic trick that saves his job.

Not much optimism for next season on this board. And it's hard to blame folks for the lack of enthusiasm. The mood seems a lot like it was going into CCG's last year.
