We would lose our annual match ups with VT, Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia and Duke, in exchange we get annual match ups with Florida State, North Carolina State and Wake Forest. HMMM...

Us playing Louisville would help me see us in person every other year. I also like the idea of playing FSU yearly.

Look, we have screwed ourselves by becoming non-competitive. What do you want, a division of all cupcakes? Today we would not be dominant in the Metro or Conference USA. We have fans wanting us to rejoin the SEC or move to the Big Ten, but we can't even fathom changing divisions in the ACC without trepidation? Tiime to get our big boy pants on an play big boy football with the other big boys, or go home.

I'm all in on that, Yuk! I just don't know how we can ever get there again, PJ or not. I think our big boy football glory days have passed us by.

    A-Greed.

Perhaps an enhanced schedule (though not sure how that happens with freaking Wake on it) might help us be more attractive to recruits?

I, for one, could not begin to care less about not playing Duke and UNC every year. And VT owns us as long as CPJ is coach so might as well toss them too. They're a boring team anyway. Would suck to lose Clemson but FSU is a natural replacement.

That actually looks like a good deal except we would NEVER be able to compete in the ACC Championship again being in the same Div as FSU and Clemson. We would keep the Clemson game if we are in the same Division, as they are?

I think this would be GREAT for us!!!!! Assuming we'd stop scheduling 3 cupcake games, the only way we'll ever elevate the program is by stepping up our profile - the only way we'll do that is playing games that non-GT diehards want to watch.

Holy Crap! We have no hope of playing in the ACCCG as it is right now. And if your goal is PLAYING in the game, but never winning it, then WTF? It seems a lot of fans have resigned themselves to having a team that plays middlin' to poor football, looks good in their uniforms and pays the freight for the program. Is there no hope for excellence? How about the idea of division realignment that puts us in the Atlantic and we go out and beat FSU and Clempsen on a yearly basis? How about at least wanting to. If this program and this fan base doesn't wake up quickly, we are going to be behind Duke and UVA and whomever else decides they want to hire a coach that can put their team into competition to lead the conference. Why even toy with this Division IV crap if we really aren't in it to win it? Get a coach, for Christ's sakes.

Sure we do - with a good (not even great) team. The Coastal is wide ass open. Hell, Duke won it last year! VT and Miami are not that good. Clemson and FSU is where the ACC power is at.
