Somewhere in the archives is a discussion about Travis Custis never playing a down for Georgia Tech. Some kids just seem to be star-crossed. The recent optimism over the HIll allowing CPJ to sign academically shaky kids has got to be tempered with the reality that our school is a difficult school. Hunt-Days is baffling. Isn't Synjyn a pretty good student. Isn't mom an educator?

Word on the street (family source) says Custis passed spring semester, but for Days, not. That's all on him.

Well, that's it...this year is a complete disaster...Justin Thomas running around like a chicken with its head cut off and handing off to Laskey. You're done PJ!

Do we know if Custis was an exception? He couldn't pass his HS exit tests or whatever it's called yet he qualified to get into GT? Feel sorry for the guy, he's wasted 2 years. If he passed spring semester why is he leaving?

He may not have had enough credits, not sure. One thing I'm sure of is he won't be back here. You may see him at some school in the SEC

Anybody know how player academic progress is tracked? In the "old days", if a player began to fall behind, he wasn't allowed to practice and he had to attend study hall monitored by staff. Tutors would also be made available if needed.

How does the system work today?

That is one less thing I have to look forward to this season for. Was really hoping Custis would be our next great RB at the Flats. Even in a new offense in 2015 after PJ is gone, I expected Custis to be a great back for the next few years.

As Helluva said, no Custis will make our backfield a joke. I have a ton of respect for Laskey, but you just can't build an offense around him. And with the TO, you need a good BB. So here is to another 6-6 or 7-5 season watching 3 yard Laskey runs, a timid QB, and a DII level receiving corps.

Just give me 7 more months and we'll wave goodbye to this nightmare we're in. I may sound like a downer, but I really have nothing to be optimistic for right now with GT football. Tough times...

The entire athletic program is in shambles, with the exceptions of golf and baseball (and even baseball is down this year).

12 out of 13. When will this stop?

Bobby Godd never, not once, ever blamed his boys for a loss. It was always on his shoulders, and his shoulders alone. That is greatness. This is not. --YukonWreck

As far as beesball, we're are (do I dare to say) a young club. We only have 3 Seniors on the team with a chance to still play somewhere in post-season baring if we win our 4 remaining games, which includes Uga at the Ted.

I wouldn't say the entire athlete program is in shambles. I do think some parts of it could make some improvements. JMHO
