Its called "No Turning Back" and is sort of an outsiders guide to the TO and PJ. The author makes some great points about perception playing a role in the health of the program. I liked it.

Immediate credibility issues--he isn't even aware Byerly has won the starting job.

Well some of the points we have beat to death about Chans recruits and our rank nationally in recruiting are old hat but its clear if we do go back to traditional option then we will need the guys to run this offense. It was a good read though and didnt really tell us anything we didnt discuss earlier on this blog.

Gotta' admit. While seeing the phrase "No turning back" and then seeing this link having to do with the TO and GT, I started getting that feeling like I've been punched in the stomach.

Johnson has been -- mostly successfully -- coaching option football for 30 years, and this spring is all about doubling down on what he knows best.

"Really, this spring we've tried to get back to basic fundamentals," Johnson said last week in his office at Bobby Dodd Stadium. "We're getting back to our roots and what we do. It's been fun, because we've got guys who want to do what we're doing. And so that part of it is good."

How many times have we heard about simplifying things and doing less, focusing on the basics, etc? How can our offense get any simpler? We literally run about 3 plays 80% of the time. I am starting to wonder if our coaches haven't been drinking their own koolaid.

I wonder how Jordan and Custis feel about this? That's not what PJ told them (or Vad) to get them here. Paul "Dream Crusher" Johnson.

No worries, I am pretty sure this year is going to be a pretty bad year. No more PJ or Service Academy football after this year!

I liked the part that quoted Johnson as saying something to the effect, we just have to execute better than the other guys. Now, if he meant we are going to line up and really block people and run hard north and south instead of attempting to trip them and run wide without cutting back, I'm all in for the running game. And, if it means we will develop pass blocking techniques that will stop the pass rush and give our QB time to get off at least a three step pass, I'm all in again.

We do this and we will win a lot of games.

Yea,according to the O.G. (offensive genius)Tech is all about getting back to the real TO.Jesus H. Christ, 3 yds. and a cloud of dust. Tech has been simplifying this offense and defense for around 3 years now, and we still can't get it right. Either we got dumb ass players, or the coaches can't teach it. Witness the fact that our starting QB left school after his first full year of playing!Seriously, what is Johnson's last season under contract?

"No turning back"....that's what I'm afraid of.
