    Deja vu, all over again.

Well, long suffering Tech fans, here we are again. Up sewage creek without a quarterback. Somethings never change, I guess. Once again, for the umpteenth year, it seems---nobody to lead the offense. Didn't Josh Nesbitt NEVER participate in spring practice? Now we have one more highly-touted candidate taking a powder during the spring. My suspicion is Justin didn't play because he was really dinged and no sense risking further dingage. But the conspiracy theorist in me wonders if it might be just a tiny bit of not wanting to show just how little progress JT has made. People much smarter than I quote the adage, "if you have 2 qb's, you really have none." That is my take on it, pure and simple. Our leading candidate can't separate from a group of pretenders that includes the one the got away from Furman and a true freshman. Thomas, who desparately needs to improve to reach the level of Vad Lee or Tevin Washington, can't win the majority of reps in spring practice. Inquiring minds want to know: what is the plan? When are we going to go out, identify a quarterback recruit that has the skill set we seek, and has a decent possibility of actually attending school here? Find a few, don't waste time on kids that don't have the grades, don't see themselves as engineers. or whose high school coach was Matt Stinchcomb's college roommate. This is so aggravating. We play a brand of football that needs a specialized, talented quarterback, and we can't get a single one into school--in seven or eight years?

    A. If he thinks he's dinged-up now, just wait until he faces a real defense..

    2. Or you're right and he's exactly what we thought he was: Vad's backup and not good enough to take the job away from a guy who ultimately didn't want it in the first place.

This. In Year 7 of the Johnson Era.

Patience, yukon. Next year, when Johnson's finally got all his boys in there, things will improve.

Look if a guy can't teach blocking and tackling both fundamentals of the game how do you expect him to teach a QB? This guy can only teach an O line to fall down at the feet of the opposing D like fish out of water, pray tell me how do you expect him to teach any thing? How can we expect this guy to a see a recruit and wants to play? This guy doesn't know as much about the game as Mack does. In fact I'd rather see Mach as HC than this guy.

Ruh roh, the three sad-sack participants in this thread better cease and desist. I see no new ground being covered here. Everyone lighten up. We need to spend the rest of the afternoon on the Hive to improve our outlook. Let's all just turn that ol' frown upside down. Like that Geico Pinnochio commercial --" I see nothing but untapped potential on this team."

Well it is presesason and we get so little info from papers down here on how we did at T game so I kind of like the info you give me.....yeah afraid we need a hoss at qb and JT may do it and my hope is he does but still need a guy who has run this offense in HS ....Bama wanted JT to be a corner and GSU lucked up by offering Tracy Ham a schlorship after big schools wanted him to play defense.jTime for luck on Jacket side of the field.

Saban and staff didn't just fall off the turnip truck. when they evaluated Thomas they saw DB. When we heard his wishes, we were seduced because we wanted/needed four star recruits. We will rue the day let him play quarterback. It's the inmates running the asylum over there now.

It's freaking spring. Barely a dozen practices. I remember reading about how terribly Joe Ham was in spring ball, and if he didn't watch out Brandon Shaw would've been plugged in. Heard a lot of good things about Byerly this spring too.....

At least Byerly got a schollie! Hopefully deserved.

Tim Byerly to earn scholarship with Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets - ESPN

    Go JACKETS! THWG!
