Nothing much to talk about? Lets rehash the Vad Lee Question... Again.

From the article "Withers spent the past two seasons as a co-defensive coordinator, assistant head coach and safeties coach at Ohio State. He also brought along John Bowers, Drew Mehringer and Parker Fleming to fill positions on his staff at JMU. So naturally, the JMU program now has a little bit of Ohio State flavor. Quoting Vad “I was a fan of what they were doing at Ohio State...." "

‘Sky is the limit’ at JMU, says Lee - Richmond Times-Dispatch: James Madison

    Go JACKETS! THWG!

I envision myself as the next Braxton Miller! Yeah, that's the ticket.

I wish him nothing but the best. He was well liked around campus and struck a friendship with my daughter after bringing a few of the team to my daughter's sorority's Dance Marathon fund raiser for the Children's Hospital 15 months ago. That's the both of them in my avatar.

it's obvious he was told he'd lead one type of offense but was then forced to lead another. I wish him the best in his pursuit of running a non-HS offense.

This is what Eric had to say:
@Stinger90 CPJ felt he never mastered the option game and Vad felt he did. Best move was made for both sides.

I still think CPJ mislead him some when we recruited him.

I am not president of the Paul Johnson Fan Club, but I really don't believe he misled anyone. A 17 year old hears what he wants to hear sometimes. CPJ's failing,it seems to me, was seeing Vad's body of work and then misjudging that he could be brought under center and be a capable practioner of the offense.

I don't think you can limit selective hearing to just a 17 year old, people in general hear what they want to hear. Maybe I was being a little bias when I said misleading, and I do see your point of view about failing in his judgement because Vad played in a pistol formation in high school.

I followed Vad when he was at Hillside. I even chatted with him some when they were going to play an ex-coach from my school and the plays they like to run on offense and defense. He was grateful and stated the he had seen film on them. They also had one of the biggest offensive line in the state (NC) at that time.

Anyway, it didn't work out for both parties and everyone was moved on.

I wonder if this was a self-assessment that Vad made public or an assumption on PJ's part?
