    What would you change ?

I see a lot of negative post about where the football program is heading going into next season. Lets say you wake up in the morning and you were the HC. What would you do (with the roster we have now) different to climb out of the 6 to 7 regular season wins and lose the bowl game funk Tech is in right now ? Here are a few of my changes.
    1. More of a passing attack. Especially early in the game to open up the running game.
    2. More spread packages to get our backs in open field.
    3. More blitz packages. Lets get after the offense more. Bring some more heat.
    4. Special Teams are still a sore spot. I would use anyone on the roster even starters if needed to make some plays on special teams.

I think some of those things would have been best tried last year with Vad and RG. I would have liked to have seen more creativity in getting our playmaker(s) the ball. Would have loved to have seen diamond vs UGA with RG getting the bulk of the load.

Hard to say for this year because we don't know what we have at QB, RB or OL. My dream would be to ditch an AB and replace with a TE, then just run a 2-back set out of the shotgun - Custis and Perkins. Days just isn't a RB. Zenon and Bostic don't have RG's skills, so they're just small kind of fast guys that aren't very good at making moves, breaking tackles, etc. Deon Hill is still a ? for me. Laskey is a cog in the machine. We need a middle threat to slow down D's from jumping the perimeter game.

on D, we lost both DEs (one of which was NFL caliber), Watts, Jemea and Young. How good will their replacements be? Who knows.

    -a TE
    -a real 2-minute offensive package
-passing plays that involve crossing routes rather than 40-yd bomb post patterns.
    -more QB dives. JUST KIDDING!!!

Of course I would have hired Ralphie as my OC and let him confuse the defense with his antics and different sets.I think I would do all of the above but would try my best to make my offense a wide option one with plenty of passes..As anybody who has posted here knows I amnot a fan of the option for many reasons, mainly due to the fact that we dont have guys to run it but I would get Raphie to put in the Carolina or Auburn spread since it is not that far from what we do know in our blocking keys..I think it would also fire up some kids to play in a wide open offense.

I agree. I would love to see more spread passing formations even if the QB tucks and runs with it most of the time. Just give the defense something else to look at sometimes. I like the option. Always have. But even when I played in high school we had other formations and plays other than just the triple option. The option is a good set of plays but should not be your entire offense but rather a set of plays that are part of the offense.

    What would you change ?

    Here's what I would do:

    1. Hire a new DC that will Run man coverage on defense basically all the time and bring 6 guys to get pressure and focus on hitting at or below the waste and creating turnovers.

    2. Take our current offense and spread the ABs out into the slot and back the qb up into a pistol formation and occasionally push it all back together and run the diamond.

    3. Find better recruiters and start cutting guys that don't want to be here or aren't playing hard to open up spots for bigger classes (sorry I'm trying to win not be a sweetheart)

    4. Ditch Russell and get UA or Nike so that can't be used against us in negative recruiting.

    5. Play real music at the games and not awful rap, I'm not saying don't play rap just don't play cheesy stuff.

Do you really think changing the uniform provider would make a difference ? How is that being used against us ? I'm not trying to be smart. I really want to hear how wearing Russell is effecting our play on the field. Is wearing Russell maybe hurting Tech in regards to recruiting ?

The interesting thing is that we supposedly ran very little true triple this year. 90% of our running plays were dives, AB options that looked like triple and rocket tosses. So frickin' boring. I still can't understand why we saw such little pistol/Diamond during the year.

Yeah negative recruiting. I think people really underestimate how lame Russell is to 18-22 year old guys, I know several engineers and a couple from tech and they all wear old blue jeans and 1990's new balance shoes but these 18-22 year old kids care about fashion and the gear that they get when they sign with a school.

Russell is lame to even 30+ year olds too, trust me! I saw a picture of PJ and another coach on a recruiting trip and cringed when I saw the big "R" on the front of his GT attire. That's not impressing anyone. As stupid as it may seem, Russell probably does hurt us a little. Wish we could just say no to the money and take a smaller amount from Nike. Hell, I'm not spending $50+ on a frickin Russell shirt! The plain ones sell for like $10 at Walmart!
