GT's first commit for 2014 class flips to Iowa

I mean if this isn't a damning piece of information regarding Paul Johnson's regime, what is?

Taylor told Eric Thompson of the independent website GTswarm.com that “No communication for months what so ever. No coaches coming during open period to see you and you’re teammates. No relationship was formed …”

If that is true, PJ bears total responsibiltiy for losing him.

It's funny that a decommitted from a coach who's last big year was 2009 to a coach who's last big year was also 2009.

Could GT have WANTED him to de-commit to use the scholly for a better player?

Just cannot believe any coaching staff, much less our own, to be so STOOPID as to overlook keeping in touch with a committed player they want to sign.
In the past GT football has often been JUST GOOD ENOUGH TO BREAK YOUR HEART!

I believe we are on the way to getting where we all want to be - Win Championships, and be more competitive with UGa and Bowl Games.

QB's looking up, WR's coming along(?), Welcome CTR, CMP and new AD, We have some good recruiters with a good class coming, Stamps back to ST's, all 3 phases should be better this year than last. We have team speed to match anyone we play.

    What's not to like?

I guess that's possible, but isn't that kinda contrary to the GT ethos?

Would not surprise me at all......friend of mine working for Scout.com says we have big problems in South Ga and recruiting so ,and this is just me,why not a letter or phone call to solidify the kid...no matter what his star value word gets out and this aint good.

Look, the kid is a liar. He lied when he gave his commitment, so why not embellish it with "I had no contact from Tech for months"? But we leave ourselves open for all sorts of negative recruiting. Johnson vs. Ferenz? Big Ten vs. ACC? Music City Bowl vs. Outback Bowl. We don't have a lot of inducements right now.

Your honor, the preponderance of evidence is mounting up to indicate that we don't really understand how to recruit in the 21st century. I don't think Paul Johnson is evil or duplicitous. He just doesn't get it, and the program is foundering because of that.
