PJ doesn't recruit white skill position players? GT's fan base is the second largest in the ACC, bigger even than UGA? Shiiiiiiit.

I read this crap once. Clearly, these people have not seen the glory of a Zach Laskey run or a Coray Carlson sack. And just wait till Byerly starts dropping bombs to the younger McCaffery!

You forgot to mention "Ice man" Holland Frost.

It's a very silly website. I'd just go ahead and encourage people not to give them more traffic by clicking the link, but I'm not sure there's enough people on here to make a difference.

    A lot of inaccuracies

First however: That Bobby Dobb quote is embarrassingly stupid and f@@@.

They're just to many inaccuracies in the article for me to take it seriously. I get what they trying to say but I think they choose the wrong school to express it. Also I feel the article slights the Black athlete the most, and CPJ has put a strong emphasis on recruiting kids who can withstand the academics and graduate from Tech.

The whole GT fanbase thing is just straight up fiction..
They don't mention that Tech has one of the most diverse student bodies in the country.
That Tech has a built in alliance with the Historically Black intistutions in the AUC.

I knew Bobby Dodd and I played for him. I never heard him say anything like the quote that is attributed to him. And, I really don't believe he made those statements.

I do believe however that Eddie had a tough time when he played. It was unfortunate that his career ended the way it did.

Was there ever any official statement as to why he was denied the tickets?

As for our players, they have always had to measure up in the classroom. And, it is true that football or any other sport takes a lot of time and that makes it very difficult to major in a field that has extensive lab time. But, it is also tough for a student to work his or her way through school. Playing the sport on a grant-in-aid is the same as working your way through school.

The average SAT scores for our players may be lower than the average SAT scores for the rest of the student body but they are higher than the average SAT score in the state of Georgia.

As for Dodd recruiting players outside of the south, we had players from Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, and Kentucky. Most schools recruit players heavily from their geographic region. And, yes in my day we were heavy from Georgia, Florida, and Alabama and today 50 years later we continue to recruit those states heavily.

And, I agree with Atlove that the article really slights the Black athlete. I for one have been exemely proud of all of the athletes that have and are representing Georgia Tech on the field and the court.

Let the racial diversity of the student body reflect in the racial diversity on the football team.

With PLENTY of Asian geeks at GT, maybe we could recruit some Sumo wrestlers as big uglies on offensive and defensive lines.
In the past GT football has often been JUST GOOD ENOUGH TO BREAK YOUR HEART!

I believe we are on the way to getting where we all want to be - Win Championships, and be more competitive with UGa and Bowl Games.

QB's looking up, WR's coming along(?), Welcome CTR, CMP and new AD, We have some good recruiters with a good class coming, Stamps back to ST's, all 3 phases should be better this year than last. We have team speed to match anyone we play.

    What's not to like?
