Ok - all CPJ has to do is have our football team average top 10 for ten years and then we can recruit. That's what Danny Hall has done.

I know that is completely unrealistic. I have said that in order for Tech's perception to change it needs to start when kids are choosing their favorite teams for themselves, which happens a lot during middle school. It seems like from 10 years old to 13 years old boys change favorite teams left and right, for all kinds of reasons, but usually the teams are really good. So you need to be a top 25 team for 6 straight years. That way when you sign a guy on NSD as a senior you would have been really good since he was about 12 years old in 7th grade. He would only know your school as being really good in his lifetime.
Ummmm..... have you looked at your average college baseball player?
"A compass, I learnt when I was surveying, it'll... it'll point you True North from where you're standing, but it's got no advice about the swamps and deserts and chasms that you'll encounter along the way. If in pursuit of your destination, you plunge ahead, heedless of obstacles, and achieve nothing more than to sink in a swamp... What's the use of knowing True North?"

Good post!
Teens and HS kids are also drawn to local college teams if they are any good at all.
Also drawn to teams that their HS heroes, friends of older siblings, their own friends go to play for.
And having a "hook" like a high powered, exciting to watch offense, or a dominating D, can also help.
Hate to use the word, but cool uni's also help to draw kids in.
In the past GT football has often been JUST GOOD ENOUGH TO BREAK YOUR HEART!
I believe we are on the way to getting where we all want to be - Win Championships, and be more competitive with UGa and Bowl Games.
QB's looking up, WR's coming along(?), Welcome CTR, CMP and new AD, We have some good recruiters with a good class coming, Stamps back to ST's, all 3 phases should be better this year than last. We have team speed to match anyone we play.
What's not to like?
Ummmmm..... yes. Baseball players are more inclined towards statistics. They also recognize more the need for a back up career plan since the minors are so tough and low paying. Baseball players take the longer view and are more likely to have a longer career if they are fortunate enough to make it.
Football players know they are brought in and the average career is like 3 years. So they have to make it fast and big. Football players are a lot more reckless, whether in college or the pros.
So the GT mentality is more suited to baseball than football.
Also baseball is a more international sport than American style football which is more like the demographic at GT. I'm sure that's where you were going ........

Hysterical? The "all CPJ has to do" was tongue in cheek. It ain't easy and everything has to work together to get the desired winning results.
I was just pointing out that for baseball we can recruit top players. I know football / basketball players are very different than baseball players. But Danny Hall has found a way to make it work in baseball. Win a few World College Series and it'll get even better. All we have to do is win (TIC)
