    Where were You in '72

Saw these posted elsewhere and I thought the 'Baby Boomers' might like it. I was on the USS Constellation during the football season of 1972. I did get to watch Tech play in the Liberty Bowl shootout just before we deployed on our WESTPAC cruise...

Thanks. I forgot Milo was the announcer for 1972. I was at the Rice game and the South Carolina game that year.

We had season tickets, even if only in North Stands right near student section.

Also went to Liberty Bowl. Nosebleed seats, but we were there.
In the past GT football has often been JUST GOOD ENOUGH TO BREAK YOUR HEART!

I believe we are on the way to getting where we all want to be - Win Championships, and be more competitive with UGa and Bowl Games.

QB's looking up, WR's coming along(?), Welcome CTR, CMP and new AD, We have some good recruiters with a good class coming, Stamps back to ST's, all 3 phases should be better this year than last. We have team speed to match anyone we play.

    What's not to like?

My wife is from Memphis and was at that game in 1972, 3 years before I met her, first college game she ever attended. Ended up in Atlanta and married to a life long Tech fan in 1976, me. Fate, I suppose. She is now a huge Tech fan as well and loves college football Saturdays. I am a lucky man.

I was supposed to graduate in June 1972, but thanks to a GPA of 0.7 winter qtr soph year, I got a bonus 5th football season! Was working at the Tech P.O. when the telegrams after the Liberty Bowl came pouring in. Got commissioned in March 1973 and headed for Westpac looking for Lexjacket.

Yuke - GT Student Center 1972...

Do you remember that INCREDIBLE bowler who spent so much time around the lanes, he later went on to the PBA for awhile?

I am afraid I don't, but I have killed off a bunch of brain cells over the past 40 years. Was it YOU?

    ...not hardly

I do my bowling with a 9mm, no hook.
