I have to admit I've really come around to the idea. I even have it bookmarked. He seems to be enjoying it, too. It gives him an avenue to speak to the fanbase w/o having to answer questions.

I'm still not sure how big a recruiting tool it is. It seems to me it's just a way for him to connect more with fans of the program and/or cultivate new fans.

He really gets a chance to show the positive side of his personality, too. His sense of humor really comes through and it's not the sarcastic/smug humor that sometimes comes out in press conferences. It's the humor that comes out in his public speaking events.

Some of his more recent tweets sound like a kungfu sensei dropping one liner pearls of wisdom. Some seem to contradict his public image as a guy too stubborn to try new things and brash with the media.

I've come around as well. Like you said, I think the effects on recruiting are overblown, but it's definitely nice to see daily updates from CPJ. It's good publicity, and he doesn't have to worry about his words getting twisted by some media writer. And, he happens to be pretty funny too.

Why don't you just join Twitter and follow him? Twitter is pretty cool.

Helluva, that accounts for 99% of the tweets of college coaches from what I've seen.
The other 1% are: Big game today! Big recruiting weekend! Go (enter our mascot)! Great win by our hoops team! etc. Sometimes a picture is included, which is pretty cool. Good job by the intern running PJ's account.

Wasn't a complaint, just a random observation. I already follow a couple of motivational quote accounts (help me stay so positive!) so it jumped out at me. But it's worth following him just for the random pics (ping-pong, etc).

@GTrecruiting has actually been the most informative GT related account I've seen.

It's pretty good. Follow some of the recruiting guys in Jan/Feb, they give out TONS of info the boards never will.
Do you follow any of the players? Some, like Jemea Thomas and Will Jackson, are pretty funny.

I follow Vad and Laskey. Both seem to be pretty good people. I tried following a few others but they had way too many and too frequent stupid incoherent tweets in some strange language that just cluttered my account with nonsense.
