Saw the first inning, then watched a Tolstoy movie "Anna Katrena". {Is baseball slow? .... A rhetorical question.}
Then ..... GT was down 4-1, now up 10-4. King comes on in relief for GT in the 8th and strikes out the side in 11 pitches. (I know, he wasted 2 pitches.)
I think that is called ownership.
11-4 GT.
King lost it in the ninth and only struck out 2. He walked one. He's my type of pitcher, very fast and doesn't take a lot of time between pitches to contemplate the fate of the universe.
Cruz had a great night in relief too. Our pitching staff is getting a lot of good work in.
GSU took this game seriously (as we did). They started their best and we started #4. Evans Homers Twice As No. 20 Tech Pounds Georgia Southern, 11-4 - Georgia Tech Official Athletic Site
"Hess, the normal Friday starter for the Eagles was impressive through five in the upset bid, holding the visitors to a run on three hits. With Tech jonesing for some offense, the bats came alive in the sixth inning and it was all Yellow Jackets from there."
My condolences to stonedwall for this defeat.
DCS: "I'll give Helluva the nod on this one."
11 out of 12. When will this stop?
Bobby Godd never, not once, ever blamed his boys for a loss. It was always on his shoulders, and his shoulders alone. That is greatness. This is not. --YukonWreck
