MJ left after the 2008 season with Darryl Richard and Vance Walker. He left early after his redshirt JR year...Derrick Morgan was a true sophomore that year. You're right, that 2008 team was STACKED. Pretty much every starter, save the LBs the ABs and a few OLs, saw time in the NFL.
On another note about GT, I think the further away from GT you get in terms of attending, the greater you understand how prestigious it really is to attend it. You hear former athletes say it all the time, they didn't know how much weight a GT degree carried until after they left the school and went out to the "real world". Personally, I knew GT was a great school when I chose it, but it took me going out to the working world to realize just how much employers and clients respected the Institution. Can't tell you guys how many times GT opened doors or got professional relationships going.
