Q: What are Tech’s plans for you?
A: Their plans are for me to be the next Tashard Choice. They said they are going to switch around the Wing-T and use the “Pistol” formation for me. They said they didn’t have a running back like me with my type of quickness and speed. They have Redskins’ plays. They went all the way to Washington and got some plays from the Redskins … and they’re going to use me in some of the formations.
If this is true, this could really help PJ as he goes forward in recruiting. I just hope it is not too late.
He and Roof have to do something to dispell the rumors (negative recruiting) that if you come to GT, you will get "cut" blocked all spring and fall in camp. Unless this can be radically changed in the H.S. players' minds, we will continue to struggle getting recruits on that side of the ball also......b/c of the O.
Should go to Frisco and Oregon too...
Matter of fact what happened to the offensive innovator that was Paul Johnson ? So far I haven't witnessed anything innovative from his offense. The offenses at both Navy and Georgia Southern are more dynamic than his, and dear god his two-minute offense have been horrid.
I like it. You craft the offense around the guys you have. And with the guys brought in over the last couple years, this offense will look drastically different very soon.
Custis isn't afraid of the expectations either. He's confident, but quiet about it. Very excited about him and the road graders we got (not forgetting the 2 monster transfers as well).
ATL. I apologize that that came across as putting words in your mouth directly. I was just attempting to summarize the kind of scrutiny CPJ gets. Your post was just the last one I read from a long list on several different boards over time. It just seems to me, that whatever direction he decides to go, or whatever action he decides to take, people will come out and criticize it. Personally I see no negative in consulting other respected members of the football community and expanding or adapting his offense. What could the downside possibly be?
"A compass, I learnt when I was surveying, it'll... it'll point you True North from where you're standing, but it's got no advice about the swamps and deserts and chasms that you'll encounter along the way. If in pursuit of your destination, you plunge ahead, heedless of obstacles, and achieve nothing more than to sink in a swamp... What's the use of knowing True North?"

I agree nothing wrong with learning and incorporating different ideas, look at what Harbough did at SF this year. I saw a lot of Oregon and Nevada in there offense which was very vanilla last year. My criticism of Paul is that I haven't seen a lot of innovative "wow" offensive plays from his offense, which is something I was expecting after being informed he was/is an offensive guru. Friedgen's offense was more dynamic if you ask me.
