Latest on Mitchell suggests commit to Arkansas today

    1:59 update
    Quarterback Damon Mitchell,
6-3, 205, 4.48 of Egg Harbor City, (N.J.) Cedar Creek said he had a
great visit. Loved how the fans support the team and how the fans know
the players. He was also impressed with the team chemistry and how they
care for another. Fullback Kiero Small was his host. He said he wants to
go home and talk things over with his mother and his coach but said if
it was left up to him he would be a Razorback but wants their input.

I guess he doesn't care about playing QB. Good luck at Walmart U, they'll stink for a good while.

Not sure why anyone is surprised or holding out hope for guys who take visits elsewhere the weekend before signing day. Since I've been following recruiting, 9.5 out of 10 times when a committed kid visits another school before signing day, he ends up de-committing and committing to the new school.

When I heard Mitchell and Ramos were taking visits, especially since the staff made it known they weren't happy about it, I pretty took them off the "committed to GT" board.

We won't miss Ramos, but I do think losing Mitchell hurts a little since he could have played several positions for us at an impact level. Barring a new commit or two over the next few days, the guys we have on the board are what we'll end up with. I think the de-commit wave is over now.

That is about what Johnson said -- visit on last weekend before signing day, he's not coming here -- so he moved to the next guy in line very quickly.

We moved on another qb/athlete already so not even sure he still has an offer.

I agree. But Mitchell was always iffy, which kinda makes you think about the prima donna thing. If he wants to play QB, Arkansas and Rutgers surely are NOT the places to go. Out of the 3 GT is WAY WAY more attractive.

I'll bet he got on these message boards once he committed and decided he wasn't interested all that much in doing the class work.
