Here you go....
500 Internal Server Error
I know it says server error, but it works fine. There is also a good podcast talking about the UM investigation.
And a 790 Mike Bobinski podcast....

appreciate the link, lex. i sure hope roof can get us the hell off the field on 3rd down next year.
Solid interview. I like the emphasis on playing around the available personnel (multiple D) and stopping the run
A lot of us have been saying for a while, too many people on here make too much of a deal out of 3-4 and 4-3 alignments. Most great defenses in modern football are multiple in alignment because there's so many different kinds of offenses and teams have different personnel, not to mention the situations during games change from play to play. The important thing is knowing how to use your personnel, not trying make the personnel fit into "your" system.
Mike Nolan (DC for the Falcons) was making that exact point when he was hired. He's known for his 3-4 defense, but he flat out said he won't let his past dictate what he's running because he knows the personnel the Falcons' had may not be ideal for the 3-4. Nick Saban is on record saying that it's important to be multiple, especially in college, because the offensive schemes run the gamut on this level. What position group has the best players? Right now it's our linebackers and DBs. Then again, given the success and plaudets our defensive players are getting in the post season all-star games, maybe they were misused by Groh. Sweeting played lights out the last few games, essentially shutting out two first round WRs. That was the Sweeting we knew the past few seasons, and the guy Kiper has rated being drafted in the 3rd to 5th round area. TJ Barnes has been getting complimented on being a strong 2GAP DT! Anyone remember the 2 GAP debacle? Cross is getting a lot of positive review for essentially shutting down the run on his side of the ball (practicing against it for the last 4 years helps).
It's a football adage as old as time...it's not your system, but knowing how to use players that's the key.
This hire is make-or-break for Paul Johnson...

11 out of 12. When will this stop?
Bobby Godd never, not once, ever blamed his boys for a loss. It was always on his shoulders, and his shoulders alone. That is greatness. This is not. --YukonWreck

Little history from old coach.the guys who play the four three vs the three four should have no biggie doing either.both defenses have been around for years and if you add nose to the four three and a lineman.......you have fifty ,take away one and you have a thirty four with nose etc.My point is high school kids have played both formations in one form or another but.................and this is my point.WE NEED to be aggressive and tackle correctly no matter what we run.Erk ran the ole wide tackle six and the ends even played pass defense.Dodd was fifty man with different looks,Saban likes the 34 due to his athletes so lets just somehow get folks aggressive and the rest will work itself out formation wise.Still get upsets with all the techniques out there today. We told Nose he has the hole to the left and right of him and same with tackle and end etc....too much thinking hurts a defense. Lets knock hell out of folks and be done with it.
I agree it is really important. Really. But you know, if his defense gives up 28 and his offense scores 35, it ain't make or break. I hope it doesn't come to that, but the new AD has already noted that Johnson's offense puts points on the board. You know, that high school offense that will never, ever, work at this level. (The Raleigh sports "reporter" who crowed about that after Johnson's first year loss to UNC is still eating crow after four straight GT wins, including hanging 68 on 'em in '12. He is very low profile these days.)
In the past GT football has often been JUST GOOD ENOUGH TO BREAK YOUR HEART!
I believe we are on the way to getting where we all want to be - Win Championships, and be more competitive with UGa and Bowl Games.
QB's looking up, WR's coming along(?), Welcome CTR, CMP and new AD, We have some good recruiters with a good class coming, Stamps back to ST's, all 3 phases should be better this year than last. We have team speed to match anyone we play.
What's not to like?
