    This year: Autry, Summers, Henry
    Next Year: Jeune, Messick, Ramos

Looks like a big effort to get lots of WRs. I'm guessing that means it's likely we'll see some of those guys working the slot in our wide pistol sets.

Likely means we'll see some more split sets from under center too. For instance:

    X................LT..LG..C..RG..RT................ ............Z
    ................A...........Q..................... ..Y...............
    .............................B.................... ....................

So you might see Waller at X, Days at A, someone like Summers at Y, and someone like Ramos at Z.
We've done this before and you actually see it when we run pistol sometimes.

Having the Y out there makes the distance he has to run shorter if we're running a combination like Switch
( .... here. Difference in this one is we've got an A-Back playside, inelegible.)
    or Smash
( at :55 here. Outside WR runs a hitch, inside WR/A-Back runs a corner route)

What it also does is draws out a linebacker or safety away from the line of scrimmage. If you're running option TOWARDS that side, drawing that guy out forces the defense to declare its responsibilities pre-snap. The negative is that it declares which side you can run option to.

I look at Juene and Ramos as two guys in the Bebe mold. Messick is a good athlete and raw WR who can be a Melton-type player for us, IMO.

    We'll see.

This guy might be the best WR PJ has signed.

Remind me a lot of Demaryius. And who says we can't get big time receivers here?

Stylee, if we did that I think we would do it with Bostic, Zenon, or Hill at Y just to keep the defense from going to a Nickel package.

Something we did more of this year was an Over formation (PJs old playbook has all formations with the WRs on the same side called Over *Something*) with all backs eligible:

    ...............A..LT..LG..C..RG..RT............... .............Z
    .............................Q............A....... ...Y..............
    .............................B.................... ....................

Godhigh was also overthrown on another play out of that formation.

Using one of our "receiver" A-Backs should make it easy to create a mismatch against man or zone coverage where the 3rd WR tips our hand with the personnel package.

I think you're right to the extent that all three of those guys are good receivers and there's no reason NOT to put them there. But we've used WRs in that spot before... like Stephen Hill in the UNC vid.

I think the Over stuff is one of the most interesting parts of CPJ's game. Most D-Coordinators spend a lot of time worrying about our base and trips formation... the Over stuff creates tons of potential different surfaces that a front 7 has to adapt to.

I think bringing in the 3 WRs this season may be a function of who's leaving than future personnel schemes...though that maybe be some of it. Chris Jackson graduates, Jeff Greene is transferring, and there's been some talk that Jeremy Moore is leaving. 3 in, 3 out.

If CPJ is going to use more WRs in slot/AB personnel packages, don't forget that Michael Summers played RB in High School. It certainly gives CPJ options (no pun intended) as to how he can use Summers out of the slot without tipping his hand to the defense....IF he decides to establish Summers as a running threat. IMO, AB is the most dangerous position on our offense outside of QB. What Orwin Smith did at AB is just the tip of the iceberg if CPJ ever decides to unleash the full complement of the playbook...and now that we have Vad, I'd be very happy if I was an AB.

Godhigh's made some big catches from the Aback spot.
