Now that the bowl season is winding down, I'm hearing a resurgence of rumors that GT will join the Big 10 after we announce a new AD. We talked about this at length
a few months back. Anyone else hearing this?
Just an observation.
I was speaking to a Michigan fan after their loss to the Roosters. I mentioned that I was a Georgia Tech fan and ACC fan but preferred for Tech to be in the Big Ten. He said he has been hearing a lot of chatter on his side that the Big Ten would like to have us. He said that we would have been a better get than either Maryland or Rutgers.
I would think this is assuming the new AD wants to jump ship or the gears are already in motion. I would think they would have to wave a bunch of dough in our face for this to happen. I kinda like the way the ACC is shaping up, especially if we were to get ND as a full member. I would love to play them every year. Maybe in the Dome. That would be a treat since they recruit the South so much.
Is it realistic to think that a new Athletic Director would come in and want his first official act to be changing conferences? And before we start playing Notre Dame every year, I'd really like to get to where we can beat Middle Tennessee State and Virginia regularly.
I'll be surprised if there's any change at all.
There will be a contract renegotiation and with NBC getting into the sports mix the price of poker will go up. Our overall football picture is better and the bball picture looks great.
