    More surprising to me was that the officials actually knew the applicable but arcane rule.

    Ha, that is awesome. I didn't know that existed.

    The FG challenge during our game was also a weird occurrence. I wonder if that was the first ever FG challenge?

    I still do not understand how a ref with vision over 20/300 could have missed that.

    That was probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Next to that one NFL ref who heard Jerome Bettis say "Tails" when the rest of the world heard "Heads." How people don't get fired for that idiocy is beyond me....

    On TV, they showed the camera angle from under the upright. For some reason, the upright was painted white, and it was quite overcast. I could see how the two might blend together.
