+1 It is hard to get kids away from the Oregon's, USC's, and Texas' of the west. Lot less power teams up north and the kids seem to like warmer weather.

Notre Dame recruits out West, don't really see why Tech couldn't plus it's more fertile recruiting area out West than the Northeast.

Easy - it's Notre Dame. Sounds much sexier to play football at Notre Dame than Georgia Tech anytime after 1960.

It is baffling how Notre Dame dropped of so much for so many years recently. Every parochial school that plays football was a built-in booster club for them. If you were an eighth grader with size and speed and promise, the teachers, coaches, and principals began steering you to South Bend early on. Their talent remained pretty decent all along, I just guess Davie, and Willingham et al, were just such bad coaches that even good players struggled.
