reaction to the Sun Bowl victory by some of our commits

and not one mention of CPJ yelling at players... lol.

    from TOS:

Well According to scout.com article Here is what some of our current commitments had to say about the game.

Scout.com: GT Commits Impressed by Sun Bowl

John Marvin - “I watched the whole thing. I was impressed with the defensive plays that the team made. I was also impressed with their energy. I’m glad that they got a bowl win.”

Damon Mitchell – “We watched the game. It was very impressive and exciting!”

Donovan Wilson – “I watched the bowl game. I was impressed with the defense of Tech. I was also impressed with how well Tech ran the ball.

Chris Griffin – “The defense played great. If Coach Kelly was coaching it the whole year, they would have had a lot better season.”

Shamire DeVine – “I was proud of the whole team. Everyone did their job well. Georgia Tech has what it takes to win. I can’t wait to be part of the team.”

Justin Akins – “I watched the game from the time it came on until the end. The defense is amazing. All 11 guys were running to the ball making plays. The defensive line really helped the passing D by knocking down balls at the line.”

Tolando Cleveland – “I was very impressed with the players intensity. The whole team just played like they wanted it.”

Harrison Butker – “I was really impressed with the Tech defense and thought we played well in all 3 facets of the game. Really big win for Georgia Tech especially after not winning any bowls for 7 years.”

Brendan Douglas - "I thought they played great and were very prepared. I give a lot of credit to the coaching staff for having the guys prepared and motivated to play. It was a huge win for the program."

If in pursuit of your destination, you plunge ahead, heedless of obstacles, and achieve nothing more than to sink in a swamp... What's the use of knowing True North?"

Thanks for posting. I was thinking this afternoon that the bowl win had to help. Fortunately its our last game of the year so we will have a better winter than recently.

It is somewhat notable that we haven't lost any commits, unlike last year at this time. Let's hope we pick up a few more at the end like we did last year! We have lost a few more current scholarship players and can probably go to 17-19.

Does anyone know when the spring fan day will be? I have some footballs that I'd like to get signed.

Shamire Devine sounds like as much of a Yellow Jacket as one can be at this point. And, I love the comment from Griffin.

Speaking of Coach Kelly, a few of our players and former players tweeted about Groh's rant. Mario Edwards thought it was funny in particular.

Funny how only half the (online) fanbase thought so....

The first time in seven years, and the first time ever in the Paul Johnson era, that our season didn't end with a loss---often a humiliating, WTF? kind of loss. It has to help and it will be interesting how it translates into signing day success and into the morale/spirit for spring practice.

In the past Paul Johnson acted like a bowl game win was no big deal. He is dead wrong about that as he is about the importance of winning the Georgia game. Wins against Georgia and bowl games pay huge dividends for the next year.
