Man, they really sucked it big time! Of course, our D had a wee little bit to do with that also. Tough to say which was the biggest contributor, them not showing up, or us performing above expectations.

It was all the wind. The wind, I say....
"A compass, I learnt when I was surveying, it'll... it'll point you True North from where you're standing, but it's got no advice about the swamps and deserts and chasms that you'll encounter along the way. If in pursuit of your destination, you plunge ahead, heedless of obstacles, and achieve nothing more than to sink in a swamp... What's the use of knowing True North?"

Without a doubt, the wind was favorable for GT. I was really happy when I turned the TV on and saw those flags ripping. I knew that passing was their bread and butter and running their change of pace. The opposite is true for us. We have shown time and time again that we can win games with no passing at all. So I don't want to pretend that it made no difference. Having said that, I still feel like we outplayed them and the result would have been a win for GT on a calm day as well.

Well, the fact is that wind or no wind, with or agin 'em, Washington -- Tevin Washington, he of the knuckleball -- threw two big completions, one to keep a drive alive and the other to score, and the hotshot redshirt freshman from USC, which seems always to be loaded with QBs, fought it all day. (And the Orwin Smith score I really applauded. Glad to see the kid go out with a great run after having to catch a ball thrown behind him, and drive through a tackle to the end zone. We are going to miss this guy.)
