Eating Crow

I want to publicly eat crow for saying we would lose handily to USC. I was WRONG (ouch). I also predicted a much higher score. I think had they had Barkley, it might have been a different outcome but I will take it however we can get it. Anyone else with a mouthful of feathers?

I sure wouldn't have taken Tech in a bet and maybe even with the points.
The transformation on the defense in the last 6 qtrs has been no less than amazing.Its like there are different players out there. ex-How many tipped passes did I Cross have this yr? he had TWO in this game. How many "stop in tracks or go backwards" tackles did we have normally?-very few. How many today?--a lot if not most

Yeah - the real surprise of the game for me was the way our D-line dominated the game - or at least the seemed to. How many times did we actually put pressure on the QB when we were just rushing four? And we did a lot of this without our sack guy (sneezy) in the game. And while I do not encourage dirty play - I thought the hits on Wittek after he threw the ball had a big impact on his accuracy in the second half. I like to see the QB picking himself up after a passing play. To me that is just football.

I said we would lose also but hey, I said we would win on several games that we lost this year. Some you win some you lose, got to dress out for all of them.

The tackling was my favorite part. Excellent form and we hit hard. It was great to see.

I think we all predicted a higher score. The weather had a little something to do with that. We have talented players. I am really not that surprised we won. I am surprised that we shut them down on defense though. Kudos to them. It is easy to get swallowed up into a wave of negativity when that is all you hear. We have played below our potential for much of the year. We were due.

Cheese if you believe that a majority of Tech fans are happy with CPJ you are mistaken. Outside of this board, the majority of Tech fans I talk to are displeased with our coach. Most certainly he earned some collateral by winning the bowl game. Even I believe he has earned another season. But if there is not significant improvement next season, then the calls for his head will be deafening.

Lets say we finish 7-6 next year. Could you really support a coach whose last 4 seasons are worse than Gailey's last 4? I couldn't and we as a fan base shouldn't.
