CCK passes bowl audition

I know the QB stunk for USC but that was the best D we have played in a while. I think Kelly deserves consideration.

He might deserve consideration but that should be all. Too many other options out there for us.

Don't agree at all. He took over a mess in midseason, no time to do much, and accomplished a lot. Great efforts against FSU and USC. The job will be his, and rightly so. Kids like him, played hard for him.

i had a feeling it was his to lose before this game. he made an outstanding showing and i suspect he's earned the job. best fundamental D we've played all year. highly noticeable improvement in speed, aggressiveness, and attitude of our D in this game. great springboard into next season. and, we've got some serious talent in the ranks. i see good things if we stay aggressive and hard hitting.

Attitude was the biggest positive for me. Too many times this year the d was caught hanging their heads. I think Kelly did a very good job with what he had to work with and the time he had do it in. Tackling was greatly improved and that is testament to good coaching. I vote give him a shot.

I am proud of CCK. The last 6 QTRs of GT defense have been the best of the last 3 seasons by a wide margin. We were helped a little by the wind and an inexperienced QB today. It looks like we brought numbers into the box and counted on our CBs in press coverage. I am comfortable with that and feel like it plays to our strengths. Being aggressive and assignment sound makes a difference. We have some good athletes in the back 7 and I am glad it finally looked like it. I'm not sure Barkley would have made a huge difference. There really wasn't a lot of room to go with the ball.

I am not sure retaining CCK is the right call because I have no idea who is out there. But, I can support him if CPJ decides to go that way. We are starting to see some improvement. I would yield to ontheflats76 for the call on this one.

Our D played better against this team and QB than Notre Damn did!! Great job and congrats to the whole team. GO Jackets and THWG!!

I was as impressed as anyone with the preparation of and the aggressive play our defense today. But it still has to be weighed against UNC, UGA & BYU laying 40+ apeice against us. If Coach Kelly gets the full promotion, then he must have a concrete plan going forward that CPJ has confidence in.

Give him the job tonight. Verry proud of our guys and the way CCK "coached" this defense. He flat out earned it in my book.
