This does not bode well for GT. I've seen more backups have career games against us in my 4 decades of being a fan than I care to remember. Hope Barkley gets healthy quick.
I'm sure that usc is saying that "they are so scared" of us now--just like lexjacket said that we were of byu before our game against byu
I think it's less about USC than about us. If our D plays the entire game like the first half of FSU, we are toast early. If the D plays like the second half the entire game, we have a decent chance to win.
I'd rather take the back up any day since he is the back up for a reason.
yep. if we give 60 minutes of concerted intensity we've gotta great shot at winning. but, it's been since clemson a year ago that we've given--what i'd consider--60 minutes of solid ball in all three facets. it's simply not the norm but an anomaly for our team.![]()
Your right, USC does not want to be at this game, but we don't deserve to be playing in it with a 6-7 record (especially when you look at the lack of quality of the teams that we beat this year)
Let some team with a 6-6 record or better play--I don't know who we got the nod over, but I bet it would be hard to argue against such a team who is not getting a chance to compete
If you had said let some team with a 7-5 record or better play, I might be behind you if the other 6-6 teams stayed home as well (VT, Duke) that have had equally poor seasons. Both of those teams would be in the exact same position we are right now. In an age when everyone and their grandmother goes to a bowl, I think we definitely deserve to be at one just as much as many of the other crappy teams that made it.
