I have no problem with this approach. We don't need the distraction and there will be plenty of time before signing day and spring practice. We probably would not be competing salary wise with the programs who are filling their DCs right now anyway.

There will be a bunch of NFL coaches on the market by then in addition to the usual CFB guys looking to move.

If our offense scored a 100 points a game we wouldn't need a defense...or a defensive coordinator!!!

It tells me that his DC is not going to be an real asset before signing day.The chance that a DC might bring a recruit with him is gone.

Um, really? We hired Groh in January if I'm not mistaken. And he was instrumental in bringing Attouchu here. Louis Young as well....

We have about 2 schollys left for this year, and I believe our staff knows which kids are getting them. A new DC wouldn't affect our recruiting this year.

We have 15 commits. I think CPJ said before that we could go as high as 18. With Greene gone, that may be 19. So as many as 4.

Also, some of the 15 may not stick. So it has got to be a moving target going into February.

Since Kelly took over our record is 4W and 3L, with the three lost comes against some pretty stout defensive teams. The bowl game will probably determine if he keep the job or CPJ going a different direction. I can live with that.
