Seems like in my 50 plus years of following GT football I have heard this statement a couple of times before. I am in-between a rock and a hard spot here. I really do have a sense of urgency about Yellow Jacket football mainly because of my age I guess. You know, this could cause a man to drink a lot. CPJ's other statement was "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts". You don't get any play overs since you don't like the plays. We have been very competitive in every game and the ones we have lost have been team losses due to a variety of D, ST and O failures (in that order probably). The same can be said for many teams, like USC who expected to be competitive for the NC this year.

Hang in there, our 1991 NC came out of no where.

After 6 full seasons at VT, Frank Beamer was a combined 23 - 40 - 2. That's a .35 winning percentage. At places where blue chip recruits aren't knocking down your door, sometimes it takes a while to figure out the winning formula. Chan's big class came in his last year.

We are on the verge of having the keystone piece of the offense, the quintessential playmaker qb. Along with that, our OL is gonna be beastly. We have 3 300+ big men that can move coming on board next year plus everybody back from this year minus Uzzi. Green and Autry have shown flashes of brilliance on the outside. Our Abacks have been the one bright spot on O this year and they're all back minus Orwin.

On D we have Kallon, Chungong and Gamble coming to the line, all the LB's will be a year older and stronger and most of the secondary + Fred will be back plus a new DC and possible return to the 4 - 3.

Hope springs eternal, but there's no guarantees. If there was, it wouldn't be any fun watching the games. All I know is I love my school and my team and as long as they suit up, I'll be rootin' them on where ever and whenever they take the field of battle. Up with the White and Gold! (and tan!)

Yeah, like 1990...lol

That NC SHOULD have been ours alone but for the 5th down they gave Colorado to score.

But then we should have beaten NC instead of tied them.
