If I was 18 and had several offers, I would not go to GT, especially not over UGA. Athens is a college guy's dream, I can only imagine what it's like being an athlete there. Sorry to say that.
"A compass, I learnt when I was surveying, it'll... it'll point you True North from where you're standing, but it's got no advice about the swamps and deserts and chasms that you'll encounter along the way. If in pursuit of your destination, you plunge ahead, heedless of obstacles, and achieve nothing more than to sink in a swamp... What's the use of knowing True North?"

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Barry Sanders, Jr. (yeah, son of THAT Barry Sanders), busted his tail to try to earn a scholarship offer to Stanford. He was taking a bunch of AP classes, and signed up for all the SAT prep courses he could and was sweating an official offer right down to his college announcement at the Under Armour All American game. The finally gave him the official offer a day before his announcement.
Some people just want different things out of life. It's not like he didn't have many options, as Alabama gave his a scholly his JR year. You gotta want it...
Yup, you gotta want it. But to the people that cite academic issues as why we cant ever bring in the elite recruits as if that makes running this offense with lesser talent ok, the fact is that running this particular offense simply doubles the reasons why we struggle getting better athletes... Instead of just not coming due to academics, now it's academics plus a quirky system nobody wants to play in. Look no further than Dwyer, Thomas and Nesbitt as evidence of the difference it has... They came despite the grades but clearly stated they would not have come here had CPJ been here before. And these guys are the biggest reasons for CPJ's success so far! Mind boggling!
Beating a dead horse. This is all offseason talk.
It's been quoted on here for a couple guys in the past...both RBs and QBs. Most recently some QB going to Clemson, but I've read it from a couple RBs as well. I'm not saying we ever had a chance to begin with, but it is one more reason none the less.
There have been quite a few, actually. Here's the latest one...and he'll be one of the top QB's in the nation next year:
QB DeShaun Watson is “85 percent committed” to Clemson | AJC College Sports Recruiting
What about UGA and Georgia Tech? Watson said he’s had limited contact with UGA. “There’s a little interest, but it would take a lot for me to let them recruit me.” He said he was thankful for an offer from Georgia Tech but wasn’t interested because “I don’t want to run the Triple Option.”
Why is it people don't want to run the triple option but they don't mind running the zone read option or whatever out of the gun, or even the Pistol? Is it the under center thing? I think it's the 80/20 run ratio that gets them.

11 out of 12. When will this stop?
