will jackson says, “T.J., he used to not be much of a threat to rush the passer,” guard Will Jackson said, “but now he’s getting back there and he’s a lot quicker and a lot more explosive off the ball.”
he's definitely been putting in the time according to ken's new article.

As we have talked about, the DL and specifically NT is probably the biggest question this season. If TJ is the answer and he can stay healthy, we'll be ok. Nothing like 3 and outs to keep the defense fresh. Going to the one gap (making us a 3+/4- D) will help too.
After TJ, we have Green who is 60 pounds lighter and a half foot shorter. We may need to be converting one of our OL big boys to NT for next year. Don't have that coveted NT recruit yet!! Or was Commissiong slated to go to NT?

Leverage and power are also very important at the nose. You don't have to big enormous to have these. Green has a very powerful lower body and plays low, both of which are very good attributes. Don't know about his quickness, but if he has a quick first step to go along with his power and use of leverage, he could be very effective regardless of his lighter weight.
"A compass, I learnt when I was surveying, it'll... it'll point you True North from where you're standing, but it's got no advice about the swamps and deserts and chasms that you'll encounter along the way. If in pursuit of your destination, you plunge ahead, heedless of obstacles, and achieve nothing more than to sink in a swamp... What's the use of knowing True North?"

We've certainly seen how much of an impact he can be when his switch is "on" (Clemson last year). He's got the talent and the physical size to be a plus NT. Now it's a question of want to. He certainly looked better during the spring. Glad he took it upon himself.
Sometimes the best motivation is the pressure of not letting down your peers.
It's great tha TJ has worked and is working so hard. He has tremendous potential. And, having another guy pushing him is also really good for the team. They both can go all out and know that someone can come in to help out and the team will not lose anything.
Get the TO's & success will follow!
Maybe Gotsis? Not sure how much bigger he'll get, but he's coming in 6'5 300 lbs, and judging from some videos that have been floating out there, he's pretty athletic. Maybe a year in the S&C program and he can bulk up and get stronger and fill that role moving forward...
