carvell's a mutt homer so he's gotta mention the folks in athens a lot. maybe its a subliminal message to the mutt fanbase to rally to the cause? who knows.

Check out the comments. I'm not sure why someone would subject themselves to several years of training to play for a school where a sizable group of fans still hate you because you don't have a lily white butt. Yeah they'll "cheer you on" if you're helping to win the big game, but when the time comes & you really need it those people would just as soon crack you on the head with their oar than throw you a life preserver. Sad.
