Beat me to it. I would love to see that against the snotty SEC. But, please dear lawd, don't let it be Georgia Southern. Amen

I don't know how we're going to get anyone good when FSU couldn't either for the exact same date. Evidently they had contacted pretty much every Big East team to see if they could get an opponent, but the BE teams are also waiting to schedule in case Boise or someone comes early to replace WVU and they re-fill the open slot.

But I'll ask the same question Yukon did - who did we lose by moving the VT game? SE Louisiana who I guess we would have started with? GT fans should be happy if that's the case. The only other option of who we'd lose is MTSU, but wouldn't they be able to schedule it as well?

The 2012 schedule on ramblinwreck.com still shows MTSU and Southeast Louisiana as the other 2 out of conference games. I'm not sure who has dropped out. If we are talking about a game 5 days after Blacksburg, we really need to have the FCS team for that date. It is a trap game. Just ask VT.

In fairness to FSU, West Virginia dropped them and they tried to get Oklahoma.

not to mention southern's at the citadel that weekend. so, it's a total no-go regardless. that game could be tough for the eagles. guess who switched to the flexbone last year? yep, the citadel! and, they looked sharp running it versus southern last year. i can imagine they'll be loaded for bear this season as well.

How's this for a thought? Screw the ACC and screw playing VT on memorial day. Problem solved.
