Saban is stacking 4/5 star recruits like he's shopping for gummy bears in a candy shop, but he lacks a moral compass. Read this:

Nick Saban to Atlanta RB: You can’t sign with Alabama until next year | AJC College Sports Recruiting

What does this have to do with GT? Well, before he committed during the summer, he told AJC that GT was one of his favorites:

Washington High RB Justin Taylor commits to Alabama (updated) | AJC College Sports Recruiting

"Recruiting interest in Taylor picked up only recently. He landed the offer from the Crimson Tide after attending their junior day this past weekend. His other offers were from Arkansas and Georgia Tech. He said Gerogia had just started to show some interest.

“If I had never gotten an offer from Alabama, I was looking at Florida and Georgia Tech,” Taylor said. “Georgia Tech could have possibly ended up being where I went. But I didn’t really want to be close to home. I wanted to go away to college.”"

Whatever happens with that young man, good luck.
Assume for a moment -- I know it is a stretch -- that Saban keeps his word and "next year" offers him a scholarship. I think the polar ice cap will melt first, but ... the kid is going to stay home, go to a gym, miss a year of school .. after all the talk of character, does GT really want the kid? I'm just asking because it doesn't seem to me that success should or could be predicated on picking up somebody else's leavings.

I get what you're saying. I just found it interesting that GT was high on his list originally.

Personally, I think CPJ and staff have moved on. Supposedly, there's some super secret BBack out there that CPJ is recruiting...and it's the reason why we haven't offered the kid from Alatoona High School yet. We'll see...

I like the early signing idea too. That way you have who you have and if they change their mind they lose a year of eligibility. Also, if the school cuts them, they would lose a recruiting position out of the 25.

Interesting over signing statistics at The Oversigning Cup « Oversigning.com The "best" teams do it so it must be ok. :sarcasm:

Seems as though "Daddy" is pissed at Bama and wanting the kid to look elsewhere....

UPDATE: Justin Taylor looking at options after being told he can’t sign with Alabama until 2013

His coach/legal gardian seems to be very upset about this and rightfully so. Good luck to the young man wherever he may end up.
