Well, we have lost another could have been recruit. With the need that we have for a kicker looks like we should have pursued this guy a little harder.

Nicholas St. Germain, maybe he would have been what we were searching for on special teams, what we have now just isnt cutting it. I could be wrong but if he's good enough to go to USCe he would have been good enough for us.
I dont know if I attached this article correctly but if not just go to AJC sports and you can read it.
Balls. This really hurts given what he said. CPJ just doesn't understand the importance of ST I guess. Or I don't understand why we need to fill other positions so desperately.
Missed field goals cost us the game Saturday. Not to mention if we had someone who could nail touchbacks on kickoffs consistently (not that I know that he would do that consistently) but it could have made a major difference in the Miami game (the poor kickoff and coverage at the end of the first half that allowed excellent field position and quick touchdown) also opening kickoff of second half against the mutts giving them a short field to work with, and if memory serves me correctly didnt we have a bad kickoff and coverage against VPI at the end of the first half that set up a last minute quick score. This should be a priority for us to recruit a strong legged and accurate kicker.
I've seen Nick play plenty of times in person. Strong leg, but really not that accurate. 11 of 17 his senior year in high school with a tee. He doesn't get a tee for FGs in college. If we're going to give another kicker a scholly, he should definitely be more accurate on the HS level. If the staff REALLY wanted him, they would have offered a while ago...he was waiting for an offer from us.
Good luck to him up at USCe though.
I know this is all water under the bridge but PJ really blew it last year with the local kicker who's at Clem's son right now.

Good to know, doesnt sound like we would be in any better shape with him than we are now then. I had not seen any stats or highlights on the kid, just read the article. Was really hoping for Ryan Frain out of Illinois or Idiana wherever it was. It would be great if CPJ could go "steal" him from the Illini at last second. We really need a boost at kicker.
