Aaron Fitt from Baseball America wrote that Tech may have the most talent of anyone this year in the NCAA. He wasn't sold on the team just yet because of past trends. He did say this team has great make up as far as hitting and pitching. I agree I haven't seen as a complete team as this one appears to be. This could be a special year on the diamond for the Ramblin Wreck this year.
Hard to disagree:
2012 Most Valuable Program by the (NACSB)
Head coach Danny Hall and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have been named the 2012 Most Valuable Program by the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB). The award, which was announced at last week’s American Baseball Coaches Association convention, recognizes one college or university each year that has had the greatest impact on advancing the goals and objectives of the NACSB. This past summer, 19 Georgia Tech players participated in summer leagues, including six in the Cape Cod League.

It will also be interesting how we start off in the ACC with @ VPI.![]()
We'll see starting tonight against Mercer (who is also 11-1). Tech-Mercer Baseball Game Tuesday Pushed Back To 7:30 P.M. - Georgia Tech Official Athletic Site
Think about this "Tech's 11-1 record through 12 games is the best since a similar 11-1 start in 2010. This year marks the ninth time under head coach Danny Hall that the Jackets have started 11-1 or better -- all eight previous teams advanced to the NCAA Regional and two to the College World Series."
You have to be good and lucky to advance in the post season. We are very good. IF we stay healthy, we can be a force. I think that Hall will control the amount of work for the pitchers and develop relievers as well as hitters for the post season. We just can't take all the injuries last year like Smelter. We had outfielders pitching for the first time.
Another area that has improved so far is the fielding percentage. We were killing ourselves last year. While I don't have the stats, it seems that the younger players (Gonzalez) are making the errors. Hopefully they will settle down to the high performance of other fielders by the end of the season.
Farmer and Thomas returning is a big deal. They said they did it to learn more under Hall and to advance in the post season. They know it's possible for us to go further. What I don't understand is why so few care about baseball at GT. We are the 10th best over the last 10 years. That type performance in football or basketball would have them ........... {deleted sexual innuendo}.
